I have a couple of tape versions, on the cheap LD Video label as BURNED AT THE STAKE and in the PAL format as THE COMING from Replay Video. It's one of only 4 or 5 horror movies directed by Mr. B.I.G. that don't feature out-sized people/animals/things. I will definitely pick it up if it gets a release.

This looks fun, once I've unpacked my library I can look it up in that great book on Swedish sexploitation that was released a few years ago. If anyone has seen it let us know what you made of it.

Danger and adventure are the business of The Violent Breed in this explosive action thriller from the maestro Fernando Di Leo, director of Caliber 9, The Italian Connection, The Boss and Shoot First, Die Later. Stone-faced CIA boss Kirk Cooper (Henry Silva, Almost Human) gets word of a renegade American working the world’s richest drug source, the Golden Triangle. It’s a billion-dollar business with Mafia connections on one side, and a Russian arms deal on the other. And it must be stopped. He sends Vietnam vet Mike Martin (Harrison Muller, She) into the jungles of Southeast Asia to eliminate the tough-as-nails kingpin, Polo (Woody Strode, The Professionals). It’s one man against an army of cutthroats in The Violent Breed a.k.a. Real Soulja, also starring Carole André (Face to Face) and Luigina Rocchi (Slave of the Cannibal God) with a rousing score by Paolo Rustichelli (The Dirty Seven).

                        • Bill commands armies of Nazi lowriders and now the undead by waving his soggy leg at them.

                          • I don't frequent this thread -- it's more of a check in occasionally, and see what crazy shit Bill said/did lately, and ... I just cannot fathom how this man A) is able to successfully negotiate licensing, B) pay off creditors without continuous collection activity, or C) dress himself without cutting his throat while shaving or feed himself without accidentally eating the shit from the toilet...

I mean ... Fuck me running. It's astounding to me that this guy runs a business capable of staying solvent.

All that being said, it's got to be an act. Right? RIGHT?!?!

He was heading for bankruptcy until that conman Demon Dave stepped in and started bilking Bill and his customers. Bill ran things in a way that made me question why he didn't just sell off the business, as he hates movies, hates the customers and would refuse to re-press things that sold to spite people for not buying some of the things that he released that nobody in their right minds would jump through the required hoops to buy for his prices. It just seemed like he kept going just to be miserable and make others miserable too.

                              • For years he refused proper distribution and complained about selling 300 copies, but now Kino are putting out fucktonnes of his stuff. It must be a good arrangement for both of them as there's no sign of it slowing up. All those years he could have been doing this but I guess he's convinced that he's right because he once ran a video rental store and that qualifies him. The man has an incredible knowledge of these films and impressive contacts amongst the Z grade film makers, but he just makes it impossible to take him seriously. Sad to say.
