. This movie gave all viewers gripping reality of sad rough life of a prostitute as Joe Brenner does it again! Violent, sadistic and real bitch slap feature.

Since CODE RED DVD's past film (American films) are getting cherry picked by other labels we had no other choice but do a 180 and made a major package deal with an Italian company.

We present a psycho rough movie from a brand new 2016 HD scan in 1080p in violent blazing color. We are proud the present CRY OF THE PROSTITUTE ! Jack Palance of Italian action film Henry Silva play opposite to Barbara Bouchet! This is a gripping film played at Quentin Tarantino QT FESTIVALS!

    • Yes, yes, YES!! A dream come true ever since CO cancelled their release years ago. Anyone know the film well enough to know if there are substantial cuts to the US version?

I have the old Substance bootleg dvd that I'm assuming was the US cut of the film, and I also have the fan version (Jonny I believe did this). There is a substantial amount cut from the US version - around 8-10 minutes. I haven't watched that old boot in years but as I recall, pretty much all the really brutal violence was missing. If this Code Red BD turns out to be the US version it will be useless.

        • the plot thickens. I remember filmart (germany) also announced that they will release almost human and cry of a prostitute some time ago. never heard anything about that since. now we know for sure that someone must have worked on new hd masters!

but will crazy bill release them first?

          • Sounds like he is sourcing it from Italy so could turn out to be an uncut version. The only reason he releases US cuts is when he licenses it from American rights holders etc and uses US prints etc. Or im assuming (and hoping) this anyway?

            • Has he ever released a foreign version of a film, though? Can't recall ever seeing subtitles on a CR release. Hoping for the best though.

              • He'll probably get Banana Man to fill in any missing dialog

                • If Camera Obscura couldn't find appropriate elements to use, how the hell did CR?!?

I want to believe but I won't until it's actually released & reviews say "it's uncut & looks great". I have the fan version so that will do until whenever or whatever happens.

                  • Bill doesn't state this info in any of his posts, but Code Red's transfer for LAST SURVIVOR (aka. JUNGLE HOLOCAUST), ALMOST HUMAN, & CRY OF THE PROSTITUTE will be taken directly from the original, uncensored, Italian negative.

In fact, all future Italian announcements, will be transferred directly from the uncut Italian negatives, or Italian Film sources. If fans want the original Italian audio, with optional English subtitles included, they had better make their request known, because Bill is not a big fan of foreign language tracks, & subtitles.

I think I remember C.O. halted their release because it "wouldn't be up to their usual standards". What the reason for this was I don't know. They have dealt with mouldy elements before so it must have been some worse problem. Dunno if they were going to the negative though?

                      • I couldn't remember any specifics from CO so I was just guessing that prints they found were in bad shape.

I don't mind if CR's prints are a little beat up, dirty, etc. I just want the film fully uncut & looking the best it possible can as chances seem slim anyone else will be releasing it any time in the distant future. I do hope no one is turned blue in it esp. the 'kitchen/gutted pig' scene.

I remember a friend sending me a dvd-r that was probably cut & from vhs but after watching it, my jaw was on the floor so I have high hopes for its blu-ray debut.

as far as I know CO gave back the rights because the owner insisted on using an old master created by Eurolab. but it seems like the rights owner changed his mind and offered filmart a fresh HD scan, when THEY acquired the rights.

found a (badly translated) discussion about the topic here:

I don't think CR is too concerned, fans of Italian films are fickle, If I was running CR I would avoid all Italian films, The backlash is too great when you make a
small mistake, or release something less than perfect.

                            • I think that's true of film fans period. We as a group are impossible to please, and complain about every little thing. Maybe releasing more Italian cinema will invite an unwanted crowd into the CR circle-jerk of apologists and asskissers though: film fans who won't accept mr. Olsen's raving mad stage persona and all the crazy shenanigans that come with it.

                              • I think if it was another label, my enthusiasm would be greater. With CR, he hasn't given any tentative release date and he has announced so many other titles, there is really no good reason to get excited until more specifics are given.

Seems like there has been, what, ten or more movies mentioned before the two Henry Silva films..?
