Cafe Flesh is getting a restoration. Mondo has said they are involved, but it is unclear if they are the ones that will be releasing it.Last edited by Derrick King; 08-22-2022, 06:15 PM.

Don't want to open a whole can of worms here, especially since I don't know all the ins and outs involved, but VS's rights to these films are disputed. And have been for a long time.
They are not participating in the restoration.
And as far as I know they will not be distributing the physical release, unless some changes have been made and they are being cut into the deal. But that's not my understanding.
This is nothing against VS at all. They've done NOTHING shady here, so no one should interpret any of this like that. Film rights can be tricky things, to say the least.

VS claims the rights because they bought the rights to films in the Caribbean Films library. This is the Harry Mohney company. Stephen Sayadian has always claimed that they never sold them the rights. Also, interestingly, VS claims they can't find the negative to it (a claim they also made with DR.CALIGARI) but Sayadian says he has the negative. Unfortunately, Mondo Macabro doesn't release adult films so it doesn't appear CAFE FLESH WILL be released any time soon.
