Meyer was suffering with dementia of some sort in his later years. His wife or girlfriend, or whatever, and his gardener got him to sign paperwork giving them control over his estate. At least that's the story I've heard.

That's pretty shitty if it is true.....

Was there no one he could trust with him at the end of his life?

He (and everyone else) deserves far more than that in their final days....

Read Jimmy McDonough's book. It's brutal.

It's the kind of thing that happens every day to those suffering from dementia ... just rarely to a major filmmaker. You can read the very good biography by Jimmy McDonough for a very detailed and sad summary of the whole situation

Posters on bluray.com are also saying its DD 2.0 is 1.78 the OAR on this? Anyway, i have the DVD, amd as much as id like an upgrade, Im not giving RM Films 60 bucks for an okay transfer with lossy audio and no extras. Fuck em

Old 1.33:1 master looks perfect zoomed in, so I would wager 1.85 or thereabouts is right.

It is a great read and a great resource for any Meyer fan. Do be warned, the last part is both extremely sad and extremely frustrating.

He co-wrote John Fogerty's new one, which is good, amd Ive heí rd his Neil Young one was good.

The Blu-ray is actually 1.66:1 (to my eye) and while I am not as picky as some, I thought it looked very good.

Yeah, I haven't read Shaky yet, need to pick it up. Didn't know he worked on the Fogerty, that's promising.
