  • "Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!" Coming To Blu Ray

Apparently, RM Films will be releasing the awesome cult classic "Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!" on blu ray on October 19. No detailed information yet, but here is a link( Hopefully, this leads to more Russ Meyer titles on blu ray)-

Woah, did not expect this, too bad it's his estate that's doing it and not a proper label.

I really don't want to give them my money but I don't know if I can live without that...

I'll wait for the reviews. FUCK Julian D, h3 obviously doesn't know what a good transfer is.

Their lawyer will make you buy it. "Cease and desist not buying our shit, sincerely, A. Lawyer."

Arrow Films were trying to license Meyer's films for the blu ray format for years. Too bad they were not successful. I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg and I honestly have no idea what to expect transfer wise, but I have a great love for the movie so I'll probably end up buying it.

My guess is that RM Films will simply use the existing laserdisc master. They've probably never heard the word "remaster."

Yeah, it'll most likely be a terrible transfer.

In Ji,mmy McDonoughs book, he quotes RM films as saying that remasters for HD are too expensive.

There is almost zero chance of these turning out good considering who is in charge of them. Sadly, too many people are unaware of what happened to RM, and who is in control of his legacy and will buy this expecting something solid, and instead getting a crap trap cash in.

                          From Blu-ray.com's forum:

"Received the Blu-Ray today. Film is presented 1.78:1, very nice quality if not revelatory, healthy grain, didn't notice any compression issues as I skipped through the film. It's definitely a big upgrade over RM's earlier 4:3 DVD of the film.

No extras at all. (The earlier DVD had some trailers and misc. bio, photos, etc.) In fact, there's not even a menu screen. The movie just plays after inserting the disc. Chapter breaks are at every 10 minute mark."

I'm sorely tempted to buy it, since it is one of my all-time favorite films. But $40 for a release that sounds like the barest amount of effort was put into it...

How surprising coming from the wonderful people who stole RM Films from an ill man.
