Ugh. AGAIN, problems with this on Roku. Anyone else having issues? Mine is that the app opens fine, you can go and select the movie fine, but then it briefly (blink and you miss it) retrieves the movie, then immediately drops back to the screen which says "resume playing or start from beginning".

Love the service, am not loving the app. It literally hasn't worked for two or three days on and off since I've gotten it, and given that I've only had it a couple of weeks, that's unacceptable. VS has done a great job with this in terms of content, but they really, really need to iron out these glitches. If this continues, I'm sending them an email.

Have you tried updating the Roku? Mine updated the EXTV app last night and it appears to have finally fixed the random quality problem. I could have just had a lucky night, but I tried one film after another and each one loaded at full quality. Oddly the load times for each movie were a lot longer than they have been, but I'll take the tradeoff if that's what it takes to always have a nice looking stream.

e2a: Ok, just turned on the app to test a few movies and got the same results as last night. Each one streamed at full quality, but there is one new issue to report. I noticed this on one movie last night and just saw it again watching a trailer. It's kind of hard to describe, but the framerate will kind of slow down and stutter for a second or two. Remember the way SNES games would slow down when too much was happening at once? It's kind of like that. And it happens at the same point every time. For example, play the I Spit On Your Grave trailer. It happens at the beginning when Jennifer fires the gun, right after the 'I don't like when women give me orders' line.

I've unplugged it, updated it, the works. I'm hoping the problem will go away tomorrow. If not, I'll be emailing VS. They need to know about these problems in order to fix them.

Somewhat along the same lines, anyone know what else is being added in terms of content, and when? They have a lot of stuff already on there, but I'm curious as to what else will be making its way to the service.

I'll also add that I'm really enjoying using a Roku again; as much as I love Apple products, Roku's streaming box has several advantages over anything Apple offers, minus the user interface, of course. The simple fact that you can add channels like EXTV gives it a distinct advantage. I've heard this next generation of Apple TV will have more "channels" to add, instead of the "locked" home screen, like Roku, but Roku has the advantage, like I said. The Roku 3, with the headphones, is also slick. As soon as I have another HD tv in the house, I'm opting for one of those. Add in all the cult channels and other interesting stuff, and you have a winner. Roku is a great value all-around.

A couple posts on the EXTV facebook are reporting the same problem with the app you're having. Still working on my end, so maybe there's a broken version in the system that I just haven't updated to yet.

Thanks. I saw this, but EXTV has not responded yet. Sucks to hear this is happening, but glad to hear I'm not the only one with this issue on the Roku.

Apparently they've rolled back the video quality for Roku 1 users such as myself in order that the channel might stream better. Just tried it, no dice. They said it should be fixed by tonight, tomorrow at the latest. That being said, this is unacceptable to not be able to use a service you have paid for when you want to. I'm not a complainer about many things, but this is crap. Get it together, VS.

Well, another day, no Roku. Finally contacted them through their FB page about this and told them what I thought about this. Emailed them directly at their request; hopefully they will resolve this soon, as still, no service.

I've been able to watch SUGAR COOKIES w/o it being incredibly choppy. I did a speed test on my wifi and am pulling in the 100mbs range, have been having no issues with any other Ex.tv title... but cookies is choppy as hell. Which is a shame, because seeing Mary Woronov naked was on my to-do list for this week.
