    • Looks like they're shutting this streaming service down. It's on their front page, as of July 31st, this service is done. Too bad, but not surprising, as there'd been less content added lately. Oh well.

      • It's a shame it didn't work out, it was great when it started.

        • Ah, sad news. It was a really cool idea.

          • glad I didn't subscribe, I had considered it a while back, but after reading of no updates I figured it wasn't worth it. I would much rather see VS release H.265 high definition 1080P or even 4K releases of their films for individual download to own. I am not really a fan of disc formats anymore, at least for movies, but I do like cd's I must say for music, but for movies, I could care less about packaging and artwork and all that stuff. It would be great to have all my movies on an external hard drive though I must admit, and I'd be buying a lot more movies if they were 1080p downloads.

            • I'm sorry it didn't work for them. There were some gems on the service. Just not the way I like to consume movies at the moment.

              • I think they may be a bit premature on this. Streaming seems to be making a comeback. Its now my preferred way of watching movies on TV using Chromecast. If I want to keep the movie on disc or USB media there are a plenty of programmes that will capture it for me with absolutely no loss of quality. Personally I use Applian but of course others are available.

                • I guess they could license their titles to Shudder or something like that?

                  • Just got my last months subscription fee refunded to me. It's a shame. When this first went up it looked like finally a cult distributor was making an effort at moving into what's now the mainstream way of distributing films- not in my prefered way admittedly as I'm a download rather than streaming guy but at least it was signs of life. It had an excellent opening offering as well but when it just kind of stagnated I could see which way the wind was blowing. I wish one of the labels would go all in. Synapse for instance has a download service but thjey only offer their older catalogue titles so whats the point? If they could just have some faith that what is working for the rest of the industry could maybe work for them as well then I think they'd be surprised. Gotta say I'm pretty depressed about the state of our corner of the industry these days.

                    • Dom, I used to subscribe to Exploitation.tv. If I viewed in a web browser (on Android) and I clicked on the screen it allowed me to download the film. This was a couple of years ago, so don't know if it still works? I'm more of a physical media person so I didn't bother keeping anything but it was handy to have a couple of films on my tablet for offline viewing.

                      • I wonder if this is the state of things in general with vinegar syndrome as far as sales of physical media as well? I would prefer 4k downloads to buy or 1080 downloads to own. I here would be no reason to not sell 4k downloads if it were downloads to own. I admit I am not buying much movies anymore mainly because I have most movies I want already.
