Grindhouse Releasing Fulci's The Beyond On Blu-ray
Grindhouse Releasing has unveiled the new theatrical movie poster art for our release of Lucio Fulci's THE BEYOND, painted by the hand of "one of the most influential and outrageous illustrators of the 1970s, whose work defined the Italian fumetti horror scene": Emanuele Taglietti!
"We are absolutely honored to have worked with legendary artist Emanuele Taglietti, who created this stunning new poster art," said Bob Murawski, owner and co-founder of Grindhouse Releasing. "With a career spanning over 60 years, he is the last of the classic Italian illustrators."
Son of a set designer for Antonioni, Emanuele Taglietti grew up on movie sets and worked with Federico Fellini as the production designer for Juliet of the Spirits. He was an assistant art director and set designer for films by acclaimed Italian directors such as Marco Ferreri, Sergio Sollima, and Ugo Tognazzi.
Taglietti is most known for his lurid, violent artwork in the Italian fumetti, adult comics of the 1970s and ‘80s. His work is showcased in the book Sex and Horror: The Art of Emanuele Taglietti (Korero Press, 2015).
Newly restored from the original Techniscope camera negative, Fulci's masterpiece of horror is now playing select theaters and drive-ins. Grindhouse Releasing is giving out free "Eerie Eyeballs" at participating theaters for the first 7 ticketholders to enter the gates of hell.
THE BEYOND opens at the IFC Center in New York City October 25. There will be a special drive-in screening of THE BEYOND with PIECES and THE EVIL DEAD at the Sparta Drive-In, Sparta, TN.
Grindhouse Releasing's upcoming Super Deluxe 4K UHD of THE BEYOND includes new bonus material in a 6-disc set that weighs in as the label's most elaborate release to date.
Six discs? Last time I checked it was just one movie. No doubt one will be a CD, one bonus, one UHD, one BD. So no idea what's on the other two. Hoping they'll chuck in a couple of bonus movies like usual. Going to be a wallet stinger.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.
With all those discs it will be a real shame if one of them doesn't include the 7 Doors of Death cut!
Hopefully not but with the new score it seems possible that 2 of the discs might be CDs...
It'd be nice if they had some details about the release to go with the announcement for this pre-order that's 2 days away (nothing on their web page that I can see except this...) but it's Grindhouse so I'll just be happy there's a date and that it's so soon.

The pre-order is two days away, but the disc could be five years away with it being Grindhouse.
