The Shameless release looks the best (it was a new scan), but unfortunately the audio is awful. I believe Arrow and Grindhouse are very much on par with each other.

    From those in MA:

"35 years after the shooting of this horror/thriller masterpiece, Maestro Fabio Frizzi retraces his steps in order to realize one of the boldest projects of his life: a composer's cut.

We are used to having theatrical cuts and director's cuts, but nobody ever dared to conceive and perform a movie version following the musician's point of view. A new score for a cult classic, realized in a more modern way, almost in the Hollywood style, with very few moments of silence but with great respect for its original identity. A true expanded version of itself, realized through renewed skill and mastery with the important ally of 35 years of added proficiency.

An iconic past renewed through a modern stylization of itself, which can now be experienced as the score is performed live to the images of one of the most famous movies shot by this incredible director, Lucio Fulci. Phonic orchestra and another energized by the rock prog strength derived by the orchestration for the Frizzi 2 Fulci band, the 7 artist top performers in the Maestro's band.

Featuring an opening set from Dust Witch!"

I'm getting this for the soundtrack album. Otherwise I'd have stuck with the older Grindhouse dvd.

Looks like Arrow's release had too much noise reduction.
Given that the master looks like it's afflicted with that weird noise that plagued so many early transfers of Italian genre films I can understand why they'd want to get rid of it, but in doing so they wiped out all the texture left in the image. Between that and the colour timing the Grindhouse looks vastly better, but it can only be as good as the flawed master is in the first place.

I'd call that a significant upgrade. Mine shipped from Amazon this weekend and should show up on Tuesday.

Even still, it looks quite a bit better than the Arrow release:

To think that some dudes thought the film looked fine when it was brightened to shit.

Wish it was. This new Grindhouse release is a little better than the Arrow one but far from being a great release. Wish I didn't pre-order it from Diabolik. Check this out:
