If so, there's going to be a lot of people importing from the US.
I saw the following Facebook post from Indicator's Michael Brooke quoted on another forum today, re: the current situation in regard to this:

"To forestall the inevitable question about the UK release of this title, I'll confirm here the very second that the BBFC announces its verdict. But thus far they've waved the Indicator Rollin releases through intact (including a genuinely startling decision on one of the extras for 'The Night of the Hunted' that we certainly didn't anticipate), so fingers are tightly crossed."

Although 'Demoniacs' is probably the roughest of Rollin's films in terms of sexual violence, I still can't honestly imagine there's anything there the censor would object to in this day and age?

But then, the BBFC often do things I wouldn't honestly imagine, so who knows...

    • Happily, Michael Brooke has just confirmed over on the Cult Labs forum that 'The Demoniacs' has passed uncut:

That is good news. Cutting something like Demoniacs would be absolutely ridiculous in this day and age.

        • Sweet. It would be ridiculous to cut it, but the BBFC are totally inconsistent. I Spit on Your Grave was classified last in 2022 and is still cut, rendering the UK UHD utterly pointless. You can't even fuck the hole in the middle of the disc.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

          • It may be deemed lesser Rollin but I really hope Indicator releases Schoolgirl Hitchhikers. If only to correct the shakey image. I remember getting the DVD way back when and seeing the image shake almost continually. Then, when it was released on blu ray I figured surely it must be fixed now, but no, same shakiness. Maybe they can make it a double bill with Baccahanals Sexuelle. The more Joel Coeur in high def the better.

            • Judging by the spine numbers, I think (and very much hope) they will release it.

I feel like my VHS copy didn't shake, but I may have been watching it on a much smaller TV.

              • I seem to remember when Redemption released 'Schoolgirl Hitchhikers', they (or somebody?) claimed the shakiness was baked into the original footage, due to use of a damanged camera or similar, and thus impossible to correct/remove?

Well, we'll see what happens when Indicator get around to it I suppose.

                • Redemption did claim that, and I think it was slightly disingenuous. Impossible to correct *without spending money*...

The version that is in the Grindhouse Experience box set (listed on the case as HIGH SCHOOL HITCH HIKERS but with the correct title on the print) seems pretty stable. It is a lot of bad things - a crappy transfer probably taken from a tape source that was just shy of 67 minutes long - yet shaky it is not.

                      Yeah, sounds about right....

Meanwhile, I know that when Indicator first announced their Rollin releases, I was skeptical about whether they were really going to take the plunge on issuing stand-alone special editions of his 'lesser' works (eg, the softcore films, his zero budget 80s/90s efforts etc)... but doing some quick maths based on the spine numbers of the current releases suggests that is probably their intention, and they seem to have become more confident with rolling out the red carpet for some pretty damn niche stuff recently (eg, their Michael J Murphy set), so hey, why not?

I hope you're right. His catalog is finally getting the deluxe/deserved treatment so I hope as much of it as possible gets released by Indicator.

Great news. On the Criterion forum they've figured out most of the films that are coming with some good guesses. Not too difficult as Rollin wasn't as prolific as a Franco or D'Amato.
