  • Hammer Films x 10

I've seen all the Hammer times many times over, but these mean the most to me:

1974 Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires
    1972 Hands of the Ripper
    1970 The Vampire Lovers
1970 When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth
    1969 Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed
    1968 The Devil Rides Out
    1967 Quatermass and the Pit
1967 A Challenge For Robin Hood
    1966 One Million Years B.C.
    1965 She
1960 The Curse of the Werewolf
1959 The Hound of the Baskervilles
    1958 The Revenge of Frankenstein
    1958 Dracula
    1957 The Curse of Frankenstein
1957 The Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas

Not just because they're favorites, but because they're first-rate storytelling and filmmaking. The studio's best films. I've also seen them projected on the big screen, which is important.

So what are the 10 Hammer films that mean the most to you?
"I've been to college, but I can still speak English when business demands it."

Excellent list, Richard. You've already listed much of my Top Ten. So, in the spirit of Spreading The Love, my Top Ten Hammers that aren't on your list:

    1959 The Mummy
    1960 Brides of Dracula
    1963 Kiss of The Vampire
    1966 Plague of The Zombies
    1966 The Reptile
1971 Blood From The Mummy's Tomb
1971 Doctor Jekyll and Sister Hyde
    1971 Countess Dracula
    1971 Twins of Evil
    1972 Vampire Circus

PS: Is there an anamorphic disc of Hound of The Baskervilles available anywhere? Mine isn't and it drives me spare...
