  • Camera Obscura releasing THE KILLER RESERVED NINE SEATS

"The next release in the Italian Genre Cinema Collection (as No. 15) will be Giuseppe Bennati's slightly supernatural giallo L'ASSASSINO HA RISERVATO NOVE POLTRONE (aka THE KILLER RESERVED NINE SEATS) from 1974! For this release we're even allowed to use the English dub. Rejoice!"

    finally!

Yeah, I've always liked that art - believe it's the original poster art. Great news this, I'm unnaturally fond of this one. Cool cast of genre veterans including Chris Avram, Paola Senatore, Lucretia Love and Rosanna Schiaffino. Keep 'em coming CO!

Yep, the gialli in particular had some incredibly striking and memorable titles. This one is actually pretty mild compared to something like DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING or NAKED GIRL KILLED IN THE PARK...

killer reserved nine seats goes blu!

Camera Obscura goes blue! Starting with our next release, L'ASSASSINO HA RISERVATO NOVE POLTRONE (THE KILLER RESERVED NINE SEATS), we're venturing into the Blu-ray-business. Many of you asked us in the past how this would impact the packaging, and we think we've found the ideal solution: not at all. Every title will be available as a single DVD as well as a single Blu-ray -- in the same Digipak-packaging as usual. The only difference will be that a Blu-ray logo instead of a DVD logo will be printed on the cover and the spine.

Extremely exciting but I am bracing for sticker shock. Their DVD's are perhaps the most expensive to import to the states, so the BD's are bound to be more so.

Wow, awesome news, but yeah, it's gonna more than likely be a major hit on your wallet. I'll go ahead and state right now that I will not be double-dipping if they go back and re-release old titles on BD, haha.

I haven't seen this film in 10 years but I remember it being a very solid little giallo. There's a fair of scraping-the-bottom-of-the-barrel going on with Italian genre releases at the moment so I'm surprised its taken so long for this one to get the treatment.
