All we can do is base things on the screen caps that have made the rounds at this point. But based on those, I prefer the Synapse coloring. And we don't seem to have full tech specs on the UHD release yet, unless I've missed them - so I guess it remains to be seen if it would have HDR or not?

David Del Valle mentioned on FB earlier today that his copy had shipped, but that post has been removed, so it's likely that Synapse just sent him a test disc or screener copy as he helped out on the disc. I don't think actual finished product is going to ship until closer to the end of the year, but then, I have nothing to base that on.Rock! Shock! Pop!

From Synapse's FB page:
"There is currently no release date to announce, but we can tell you that we've experienced no delays in production so we expect SUSPIRIA to be released before year's end, as previously stated. In keeping with Synapse policy we won't announce a release date until everything is 100% locked in.
We appreciate everyone's patience. Rest assured, this will be worth the wait!"Rock! Shock! Pop!

Saw this at the Nuart in L.A. Friday night with Barbara Magnolfi doing a Q&A (poorly hosted, IMHO). Projected in 4K, and bright!
As others have remarked, the audio mix was stellar. I remember the complaints of Vincent Pereira in the past (not all the details, more that there was a kerfluffle), and I, for one, am glad he supervised this. I saw a print in the early 90's in Seattle that was *loud*, and the screening at the Nuart was as close to that as my recollection will allow. I cannot wait to watch this at home on my own audio system where I can control the volume...
As for the transfer? Wow. As someone who's been buying Don May supervised releases since the Elite NOTLD, this truly is the best thing he's ever done. Whether it's perfect or not, I won't even venture, but ... it looked fricken fantastic. Skin tones, set details (especially the wallpaper!), depth of field, etc. Also nice to see that it used the original Italian credits - hadn't seen that mentioned, and it was a nice touch of verisimilitude.
I wish that market conditions / timing were different, and we were getting an HDR 4K release from Synapse as well, but ... que sera sera. Having said that, I thoroughly hope that the bluray is equal in all but absolute resolution (minus HDR, of course.)Last edited by null; 11-20-2017, 04:08 PM.

Stretch goal for the UHD steelbook UK release was met.
"We are thrilled to report that over the weekend we reached our stretch goal of £25,000, in fact we are currently at £28,004 and counting. Thank you so much for all your support. This is YOUR Suspira, and we are currently putting together a package of additional extras for this very special UHD and Blu-ray SteelBook release. We've got some great ideas…so please watch this space. We will announce exactly what we're going to do once the campaign has finished at the end of the month, but for now, once again, thank you for all your amazing support!"Rock! Shock! Pop!
