Camera Obscura releasing Nine Guests For A Crime (Nove Ospiti Per Un Delitto)

Amazingly I had no idea Arthur Kennedy was in this this thing. And Foschi? Sweet Jesus.

Counting the seconds until this arrives in my mailbox.

Watched this one late last night and although I had liked it well enough from my past viewing of it via the fansub, it improved even more for me this time. The first 30 minutes or so is a bit slow but it really picks up for the last hour and the killings get impressively brutal. The film plays like a dead serious version of FIVE DOLLS FOR AN AUGUST MOON - though substantially less stylish of course - both being influenced by Ten Little Indians. The interview with Foschi is pretty great too, he talks about his costars, speaking very fondly of Arthur Kennedy and how funny and nutty Venantino Venantini was. He also talks about JUNGLE HOLOCAUST quite a bit. The Italian trailer included practically gives the whole film away. Another winner from CO.

Coming in April from 88 Films!

This gripping giallo from director Ferdinando Baldi is a prime and gritty example of the celebrated movie genre. On a small island in the Mediterranean, an annual vacation turns into a bloody nightmare for one rich family as each one is brutally murdered by an unknown executioner. Filled with nudity and violence this is a gripping and breathless experience and pushes the twisted on screen events to their limit. The stunning location adds a decadent yet daring atmosphere to the movie and Baldiā€™s keen eye for exposed flesh keeps the pace hot, steamy and extremely dangerous.
