  • Mathieu Kassovitz's REBELLION (2012)

This has just been released on DVD/BD over here. Has anyone seen it yet? I'm thinking of making it a 'blind buy' come payday: my local HMV has it on the shelf for a reasonable price.

I saw it. It was released straight to budget bin DVD here. Excellent film I must say. Extremely Beautiful. Slow moving. Great filmmaking of a little known true story. Kassovitz shows he still has it in him to make quality cinema.

Bonus trivia: In the Swedish White-trash industrial town and drugs capital in which I live, kanack is slang for any kind of immigrant. It is very regional and practically unheard of outside of this area. Imagine my surprise when the natives in this film were called the kanack. I wonder if there is any realation... I Think not, as apparently kanack is used in Germany as well as a word for non-Whites etcetera.

Thanks, Chris. Sounds right up my street :) I went out and bought the BD today. Hopefully I'll get round to watching it at the weekend.
