  • Ben Wheatley's A Field In England

    This could be interesting...

"Crossing a vast mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group quickly descend into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold, they slowly become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field."

This comes out in the UK in July, no word on a North American release that I've heard so far.

Curious to see what you think of it, Paul. No doubt you'll get to see it before I do.

I like Ben Wheatley, even though KILL LIST didn't do much for me. I'll check this out.

I thought Kill List was worth seeing once, but not as amazing as some others felt it was.

I dug his entry in The ABCs Of Death quite a bit.

Drafthouse is premiering this at TIFF soon. I wonder if that means they're handling the home video release as well?

This is available on DVD here. I chose not to rent it as it is in black and White, and I am to posh for that.

Man, I finally watched this last night and thought it was bloody wonderful. Between this and BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW I have become excited about the possibilities of cinema again. I realize they're both a few years old but my god I can't imagine why more people haven't seen either of the films. A refreshing and much need breath of fresh air to counter all the mediocre Marvel and Warner Bros shit.

And I was mostly sober when I watched it. This movie is drugs enough.
