  • Titan Video Re-Releasing Nekromantik

OK, so I had started a thread about this earlier but deleted it at the kind request of Titan Video who said that there was some misinformation in the press release.

Now that that's been sorted out, let's get back to it. Nekromantik is coming back to DVD in a 25th Anniversary Edition from Titan Video.

    Here's the cover:

    • Audio commentary by writer/director Buttgereit and co-scripter Franz Rodenkirchen

    • Liner notes by Buttgereit and COMBAT SHOCK director Buddy Giovinazzo

    • Featurette with outtakes and interviews with Buttgereit and Jelinski

    • “The Making of NEKROMANTIK,” including behind-the-scenes footage

I already have the Barrel Entertainment release and I'm happy with it, but I would sure appreciate an american release of Der Todesking as the OOP european release is quite costly... too bad I've waited too much to get it.

Same boat...I have the Barrel releases of Nekro 1 and 2, Schramm, and LHODES...was hoping that Der Todesking would be next (I think it was) but they went under by then...had the Euro version of it in my hand a couple of times, but I passed for whatever reason...

I'm suspicious, as this is the same company that said they were going to release a bd and dvd of THE MUTILATOR when Code Red still has the rights to it.

Awesome... I really liked this film the first and only time I saw it. Been wanting to watch it again. I remember it being pretty messed up.

I've never seen Nekromantik. I remember renting a VHS of Nekromantik and Nekromantik 2 on the same night and both tapes were defective, with the picture bending from heat warp in the blazing hot summer. Why should I watch this film? What's good about it? Somebody sell me on it, please.

                    It's a love triangle between a man, a woman and a corpse,
                    iit's something different,
iit's one of the few non pornographics movie rated 18+ in my province,
the Japanese make a scene even more disturbing by blurring it,
it's a surprisingly well made movie.
