They actually used 3 sources for the film, 2 of which MM used and a third source which probably explains the alternate footage on some scenes.

This is a good looking thing of beauty, I like 'Cover B' (the white one), but I wonder which version it is. As with all Franco, there's multiple version of everything. This one has two, with about 10 minutes difference between them. I say two, but there's more likely even more of them!!
I will have to dust off my Amazon.de account!

I specifically watched for any alternate material and saw none.

Edit: Here's what I wrote at the time. Like I said This could all be bollocks
"My information is that a couple of the "bed" scenes are either longer or different takes but also the ending is slightly different to the MM version. And like I said above I'm pretty sure there are a couple of lingering shots on Linas nether regions. One shot in particular."Last edited by Lalala76; 05-23-2019, 06:07 AM.

Originally posted by Lalala76 View PostIt came directly from lechatquifume when they originally announced the release, and/or when they were showing the restoration progress. Also (and I wish I knew where to find it now) there was an article someone posted where the comparisons were made between the two releases. Not in terms of av quality but the differences. I have never done this myself, but what I do recall was that some scenes in the Blu-ray made me think that something was different. I may be wrong as its a while ago.
10kbullets says this: "It should be noted that this release clocks in at ninety-eight minutes and two seconds and the aforementioned Mondo Macabro release clocks in at ninety-nine minutes and twenty-six seconds. This difference in run times is because the Mondo Macabro release repeats footage of Lina Romay's character Linda screaming in the film's finale and the Mondo Macabro release has a longer fade-out of music playing over a black screen. These are the only differences between these two releases." (http://10kbullets.com/reviews/l/lorn...ray-dvd-combo/)
dvdcompare: "The film exists in a number of versions - including French versions of different lengths and an Italian version with hardcore footage shot by another director - none of which reflected Franco's intentions. The Mondo and Le chat qui fume editions utilize a French print and the Italian hardcore negative in separate approximated reconstructions of Franco's intended version (the Mondo version runs longer at the end because it uses an additional take from a different angle of the final shot)." I'd love to see Rififi En La Ciudad get a release as well."His lives inside of his own heart. That's an awful big place to live in."

I'd say Lucky is a lot more zany and pure fun.
Rififi is more of a serious noir. Attack Of The Robots somewhere in between. Robot assassins is pretty pulpy but not as out there as Lucky is imo. Lucky should also get a blu-ray. Lovely film with an absolutely fantastic soundtrack (it's on Spotify thank god) I listen to very often.Last edited by Nabonga; 05-24-2019, 05:11 PM.
