  • Those caps are deceiving. Both BD's offer substantial improvements, VL seems have been filtered a bit more than SKIE.
Pretty good technical reviews over ar Bluray.com

    • Those screenshots also look a bit more encouraging. I've actually got both upstairs, seals unbroken, and have thought about putting them straight on eBay after seeing the comparison with the German edition of Vampyros Lesbos.

      • For what it's worth, our caps are completely unfucked with. I NEVER filter anything. So these are legit

I also use a lot less compression than br.com does (check out the file size and you'll see what I mean).

I agree with John. VL looks a little softer than I'd like it to but She Killed looked excellent to my eyes. Both are substantial upgrades over the DVDs and the extras are great too. There's no reason not to get these if you like the movies.

        • I concur. Ecstasy looks the best, but I'm more than happy with both of them.

Will Cannibal Terror include the original French audio with subs? No release of the film has ever included the French audio.

            • Soft cut.

Languages to be confirmed. Ascot list this as having English lang, but I think that's an error. Still no subs though.

              • I think this is mostly intended for the German marked, as the uncut version can't be sold in most places over here.

                • "The Redemption label and Kino Lorber have detailed the upcoming Blu-ray release of cult director Jess Franco's The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein (1972), starring Alberto Dalbés, Dennis Price, Howard Vernon, Lina Romay, Beatriz Saví³n, and Britt Nichols. Mastered in HD from the original 35mm negative, the release will be available for purchase on July 28.

After the death of Victor Frankenstein (Dennis Price), two figures vie for control of his metallic-skinned monster (Fernando Bilbao) and the radical technology that created him: the scientist's daughter, Vera (Beatriz Saví³n), and the immortal wizard Cagliostro (Howard Vernon), who is assisted by a blind bird-woman with an unquenchable thirst for blood (Anne Libert).

With The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein, controversial filmmaker Jess Franco merges his fondness for old-school horror with his unique and perverse tastes in sex and violence, partly inspired by the garish adult European comics of the early 1970s.

                  Special features:

                  Audio Commentary by Tim Lucas
                  Original Theatrical Trailer

                  Technical specs:

                  French with optional English subtitles
                  Alternate English dubbed soundtrack "

Yeah, this one sounds great. I hope Kino keeps putting out prime Franco with the Tim Lucas commentaries. Great stuff.

                      • The sceencaps I've seen make it look like a definite worthy investment. Its not my favourite Franco, but its an extremely atmospheric film. My only niggle with this release is that Redemption decided not to include the more well known "clothed version" as even though the unclothed is Franco's preferred version, I still Like the additional scenes with Lina as the gypsy girl. Of course I have two dvds of this (dubbed and subs) which I will just have to keep.

I agree fully. For this reason, a few years ago I put together a composite version which is basically the 'unclothed' variant with Romay's scenes inserted into it. That tends to be my favoured way of viewing the film, but I shall definitely import the US BD regardless.

My money is on El Conde Dracula, simply because I know its being worked on, by somebody. Its been confirmed by a couple of reliable people. No confirmation that Severin have it of course.
