Anything labelled "Directors Cut" as far as Jess Franco is concerned always brings a smile to my face. Many of his movies have such a convoluted history with distributors/producers and the like, often its nigh on impossible to determine which is the directors "true" vision. Often it is none of the issued versions, regardless of the claims made on the advertising. This is one of the reasons I find his films so fascinating.

Well sometimes Jess Franco even prepared different edits/versions of his films for different markets by himself so technically one could say sometimes there is more than one "Director's Cut", but that of course isn't in the real sense of the word.
An other question: Does anybody know if the Dorado release will be also available via amazon, diabolik and the usual stores? I've already pre-ordered mine, but a friend of mine was asking me and I didn't find any info on that.

Should have my copy of Dracula's Daughter tomorrow or Monday, it's been going all around the country in the mail for some reason and took especially long to arrive for some reason, but should be here in the next day or 2 finally. I can' t wait to see it. Looks like next up will be the Dorado Films double feature, and then 99 Women Blu ray, I don't think I'll get the 2 Blu ray release from Blue Underground, I can skip seeing someone pretend to be Herbert Lom's dick lol. Oh and someone mentioned that Jess Franco's films didn't really have Directors cuts, I saw an interview with Jess Franco, and he said he always presented 1 version of his films, and then what happened to them after that he had no control over, so it seems he at least had a preferred version in mind, but that he had no control over what was released many times. I guess it's just guess work guessing what might be his preferred version on many of his films these days. I wish the hardcore version of Exorcism was released, I actually think that one was Jess Franco's preferred version right? He himself acted in the hardcore scenes I've heard. I do not know if this version has ever been released on home video. Now that I'm typing all this I'm actually talking myself into ordering the version of 99 Women with the XXX French version haha, I better stop now before I order more shit lol

I think it goes like this:
Limited numbered pre sale copies ( 1500 ) available until the pre sale ends.
But if you miss the date, per their FB
For those of you who really want the Ultimate edition [UE] but have to wait for a cash flow within the next 30 days email us at production@doradofilms.com and we will try and work something out. Any UE sales after the presale ends at 5:00pm this Sunday [PST] will not be numbered and would be based on first come first served until the limited number stamped are all gone.
I'm fence sitting until a reliable review comes in

the reason it didn't sell many pre sales is because no one has ever heard of dorado films, I bet when they get it listed on Amazon and other online stores sales will do good. Your average dvd and blu ray buyer though picks up films on Amazon.com and doesn't go searching for distributors to order their copy from, I rarely ever order direct from a distributor, I prefer to buy from Amazon.com, it's just how I am, and the vast majority of buyers are that way too. I never buy the Mondo Macabro movies direct from them either, I know you get some special stuff I you do that, but I wait for the Amazon.com releases, it's just easier to do all your online shopping from one place rather than ordering from all over the place.
