You know, I've always liked Rollin's footage on its own. It works as a stand alone short and that first bit where the zombies come out of the ground and chase the Christina stand-in back to her room is actually quite unsettling save for some of the goofy faces the actors make, playing out like a genuine nightmare. The atonal sound design is excellent. It serves absolutely no purpose however in the proper version of the film. -

Also: My next blog post will be on SHINING SEX (1975). There are indications it is coming to Bluray in 2016.

I am surprised to hear that SHINING SEX is getting a release. I inquired on another forum about this title earlier this year and was told that eurocine supposedly didn't have a film print of the uncut version. If this is true it is great news as I was hoping this and other Franco/ Romay collaborations need to be released on legitimate dvd/ blu ray. I love all of Franco's output, but his best stuff , in my opinion, is when he worked with Romay.Comment

The latest hint to be dropped is that "Two female spies with Flowered Panties" is making its way to Blu-ray in 2016.
Not sure if there is any real foundation to this, however would be interesting to see which version as the "Opalo de fuego" Spanish release is very different from the "Two female Spies" Eurocine release.Comment

Fingers crossed that this is true. Probably too much to hope that both versions will be on there, alas, they are probably both owned by different rights holders. Any Blu-ray Jess Franco (in fact any decent new release DVD) is good to me though, regardless of the film.Comment

I really like the soundtracks as well. The covers are absolutely horrible. If a designer brought me those to sign off on I'd have laughed in his/her face and asked: "Are you serious?". Luckily they're reversible apparently.Comment
