I bought both previous UK DVDs and am more than ready for this Blu-ray.

Me too. The last UK DVD release (Odeon, 2010) was from a new HD master and looked superb, so the upgrade should look especially lovely. Hope they use original poster art.

Ooh, that is good news. This one's sadly neglected by a lot of horror fans. I guess it's partly down to the lack of a region 1 disc for so long.

Yeah, I'm all over this. It's a movie that really should be better known domestically and Andrew, you're probably right, it's likely got a lot to do with it not being available easily. I've got both of the UK DVDs too and will happily double dip again for this one.

            Thanks for posting this Richard.

Less than a month until this one is released now. I just pre-ordered my copy from Amazon.

BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW is one of my absolute favourite British horror films. It's one of the best horror films of the 1970's full stop, in my humble opinion. I had actually pestered Odeon about releasing this on Blu-ray a few times last year. It always seemed like a no-brainer following their essential Blu-ray of WITCHFINDER GENERAL.

I agree with the gentleman from Bristol, whomever he is. BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW is one of England's finest horror films, period. It evokes creepy things out of earthiness, folklore and perhaps jurisprudence. Plus the girls are good-looking. I wallow in the ambiance. It is superbly photographed. Piers Haggard delivered this film ship-shape in Bristol fashion.

I'm buying it before reading the reviews.

The score by Marc Wilkinson is a unique approach to the horror film and infinitely more effective because of it. The soundtrack is essential. Buy It Now:

If the information is correct, it looks like NSM in Germany are releasing this on UHD in several different mediabook variations in March

For anyone interested, I wrote an essay about the role of The Judge in THE BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW for the 5th special issue of Horror Homeroom. I tried to situate the character within both the context of the film's setting and the subgenre of witch-hunting films. The full journal can be found here:

If you want to go straight to my essay, it's also available on the Horror Homeroom website: http://www.horrorhomeroom.com/i-shal...adicalisation/

Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?
