I have the NoShame disc, but I haven't seen the movie since the DVD was originally released. Time for a rewatch. Milian is always great. I love the movies that are less political and talky and more crazy. I need to pick up "Gang War in Milan" - a missing Lenzi. I have an old DVD-R of Violent Rome.

    • "..."The Boss" (if this is the one where Henry Silva annihilates a bunch of mafia guys in a porn theater with a grenade launcher). "

      YES!

I really, really hope that Arrow is planning on a bd release!

I remember RICO: MEAN MACHINE as being a little dull but I feel that there's more good scenes in it than just the acid bath. Barbara Bouchet gets naked, right?

      • FilmArt are working on a bluray of Lenzi's masterpiece Almost Human! Will upgrade in a heartbeat for this, one of the absolute best Italian genre films period, if the transfer is allright and it's English friendly. 2016 is already looking mighty fine for Italian crime films on bluray, with this, Blazing Magnum and (hopefully) Rome Armed to the Teeth already on the horizon.

Almost Human is so much better than Lenzi's other films that I'm mystified that he directed it. Kinda of how Cozzi's The Killer Must Kill Again is so much better than any other film of his I've seen, it doesn't seem like the same director could have shot the films (sure, Starcrash is amazing, but not really 'good').

Yeah, I've seen a lot of Lenzi films (I've yet to see his WW2 films) but Almost Human is one of those "the planets have aligned" kind of films where everything fell into place and we got something amazing.

            • I really want to watch Milano Calibro 9 but I can't understand why Arrow's disc is so goddamn expensive. It's been out for quite some time now. Same with their Nightmare City release.

              • Maybe they spent so much money on the new scan that they can't afford to sell it cheap. ;) But it's ~$18 currently at Amazon.co.uk, is that expensive?

Sure you can get the Raro boxset with 4 films for $27 but in my opinion they look like shit (David McKenzie seemed to think two of them are upscales).

                • Buy directly from Arrows site, that is usually the best way. I do it quite often.

Amazon.co.uk has it for £12.70, which isn't terribly expensive. The disc has only been out for 7 months, you can't really expect it to be in the £5 bargain bin yet.

                    • I believe it was £9 in Arrow's latest sale.

                      • Anyone know of any rumblings of FilmArt doing any more Euro-crime releases ala THE CYNIC, THE RAT AND THE FIST and BROTHERS TILL WE DIE? Those sure were nice.

They will try to make it English friendly but apparently don't know yet if they can. If I understood correctly they also don't know yet if it will be DVD, Blu-Ray or both, as they are still trying to figure out what kinds of material exist with the various producers (companies)... Or something like that. ;)
This was in June 2014. I have no idea if it is still coming or not.

                            • I watched Revolver aka Blood in the Streets a couple of nights ago. I'm selling the BU dvd to a friend & I had forgotten I owned it until digging it out. I didn't find it to be all that interesting.
