    **** NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT ****

VIOLENT STREETS: THE UMBERTO LENZI / TOMAS MILIAN COLLECTION

“It was a match made in heaven (or hell, for that matter): Umberto Lenzi’s cynical attitude towards violence made him one of Poliziottesco’s ideal directors and gave chameleon-like Tomas Milian ample room to become one of the genre’s biggest stars.” -Roberto Curti, Italian Crime Filmography 1968-1980

Italian director Umberto Lenzi had recently completed a landmark string of kinky gialli with Hollywood outcast Carroll Baker. Cuban-born/Actor’s Studio-trained Tomas Milian had become one of Spaghetti Westerns’ most popular stars. But when these two notoriously mercurial talents came together for a series of shocking Poliziotteschi – reactionary crime films that reflected the political and sociocultural violence of 1970s Italy – they grabbed audiences by the throat, gunned down the conventions of the genre and changed the emotional velocity of action cinema forever. This collection presents Lenzi & Milian’s five greatest collaborations, now restored uncut and uncensored from the original negatives for the first time ever.

Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

I've got the UK discs of these which I'll stick with for now. Might pick up in a future sale if I fancy the extras and CDs.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

I've only got FREE HAND and BROTHERS on Blu. The jewel of this set for me is CYNIC, which I still only have on DVD from Alfa Digital.

I read your review....damn, I want this. But damn, way the hell out of my price range right now haha. Even buying in the US. It looks magnificent, though.

I saw some screenshot-comparison, this set is a revelation, I need this!

they even upgraded that awful the cynic, the rat transfer. too bad I already bought most of them before.

(thank god I skipped gobbo and free hand, because I thought the color timing looked way off)

Just a heads up to anyone in Canada who purchases this set from Diabolik: I got dinged for $27 duty and taxes. This is the first time ever from them, so I'm thinking it's because Diabolik is undervaluing it or something.

Diabolik started to put the real value on their packages back a couple of years ago after getting caught undervaluing them. Have they reverted back to low values again? Been a while since I ordered from them. $27 would be close to being correct for this, when you add in the $10 admin fee.

Not sure. There was so much new paperwork attached to the box I couldn't figure out what went wrong.
