According to the Twitterverse, Argento's Inferno is getting a UHD release. Not sure which label/country but my guess would be US/Blue Underground as Arrow no longer have it and getting the rights again from Disney/Fox would be difficult. This one should look nice.

A whole bunch of Argento in new 4K restorations will be playing at the Lincoln Center in June, but it appears Inferno, which is part of the retrospective, hasn't gotten a 4K restoration.Last edited by Derrick King; 05-31-2022, 07:16 PM.

The expiring titles is what I focus on most months. Which means I don't get around to the Janus Films titles very often. (Man, I need to make time to re-watch/watch all those Hideo Gosha films.)Last edited by Derrick King; 01-18-2024, 09:30 PM.

Someone at the Blu-ray.com forum emailed Blue Underground and asked about a UHD and were told no, that because of Disney buying Fox, the Blu-ray is likely the last physical media release we are going to see.

It has to be that Disney just will not let them access the materials, because Fox doesn't have the home video rights in the US (unless somehow those rights revert to Fox after X amount of years, which I doubt.)

If Fox didn’t finance the film itself, any claims they (and now Disney) have over it will expire eventually, usually those deals have a 50-year life span for distribution with the old school studios regarding pickups.
If Disney owns it in North America in perpetuity due to owning a slice of the production itself, the hope is that they might put it out themselves, as they have backed off their “digital only” model once Disney+ hit the skids.Last edited by Darcy Parker; 06-21-2024, 02:11 PM.
