  • Argento's Inferno UHD

According to the Twitterverse, Argento's Inferno is getting a UHD release. Not sure which label/country but my guess would be US/Blue Underground as Arrow no longer have it and getting the rights again from Disney/Fox would be difficult. This one should look nice.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

A whole bunch of Argento in new 4K restorations will be playing at the Lincoln Center in June, but it appears Inferno, which is part of the retrospective, hasn't gotten a 4K restoration.

Yeah, it is back. It was a part of 2022's 80s Horror collection and is now a part of the Cat Movies collection. Which includes the following films: Cat People (1942), The Cat Creeps (1946)*, Rhubarb (1951), The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), The Shadow of the Cat (1961)*, Walk on the Wild Side (1962), The Cassandra Cat (1963), That Darn Cat (1965), Kuroneko (1968), Eye of the Cat (1969)*, The Long Goodbye (1973), House (1977), The Cat from Outer Space (1978), Inferno (1980), Cat’s Eye (1985), Two Evil Eyes (1990), The Cat (1991), Sleepwalkers (1992), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)*

SHORTS: The Perils of Priscilla (1969), To the Unknown (2017)

They also have a Postapocalyptic Sci-fi series with the following titles: The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961), Panic in Year Zero (1962), The Bed Sitting Room (1969), No Blade of Grass (1970), Mad Max (1979), Escape from New York (1981), 1990: The Bronx Warriors (1982), Escape from the Bronx (1983), The New Barbarians (1983), Testament (1983)*, Night of the Comet (1984), Threads (1984), The Quiet Earth (1985), Dead End Drive-In (1986)

As usual, films marked with an * are not available to you Canadians.

F'd in the asterisk, us Canadians, but not on Inferno. Probably going to rewatch it now, thanks.

The best thing about the Criterion channel is the anxiety caused by the "Leaving at the end of the month" list. Motivational!

The expiring titles is what I focus on most months. Which means I don't get around to the Janus Films titles very often. (Man, I need to make time to re-watch/watch all those Hideo Gosha films.)
