Just a couple of quick notes. There are two audio options on the disc (both Italian), one of which is advertised on the disc menus as being 'unfiltered'. I'm not sure if there's any difference other than the level to which the audio track has been filtered/processed. The English subs aren't accessible from the menu. The German language commentary, sadly, is sans subtitles of any kind.
The disc comes with a postcard that says the next release in the series will be THE MURDER CLINIC. I shall look forward to that one - I've only seen it via rough-looking boots.
The trailer for this one is a doozy, btw :)'You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. Still the same. Pissholes in the snow'

I've got a pretty nice fan-made copy of THE MURDER CLINIC, along with an older, rougher one and the Code Red version that's not so hot either. I like this one a lot, good news about that.
How about a full list of the titles in FilmArt's giallo line? There's THE STRANGE VICE OF MRS. WARDH, CASE OF THE SCORPION'S TAIL, DEATH SMILES AT MURDER (I think)...and I believe I read at LL&L not long ago that NIGHT RIPPER (1986) is on tap for a future release. What am I missing? LOVE AND DEATH IN THE GARDEN OF THE GODS is #5.
Edited to add FRENCH SEX MURDERS is also one of theirs.Last edited by Andrew Monroe; 10-31-2014, 08:31 AM.I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

Originally posted by Andrew Monroe View PostWeird, I was able to access the English subs on my remote. I liked this one a lot - I'll avoid any detailed thoughts for now but suffice to say it's well worth getting. Some wonderful locations and a twisted atmosphere. Reminded me a little of Romano Scavlini's A WHITE VEIL FOR MARIALE at times (specifically a trippy feast dream sequence), the director Sauro is his brother, and Romano photographed this one. Hope you can get those subs to work - do you have another player to test it on?
I really enjoyed this too. It's been a long time (maybe around 10 years) since I've since a vintage thrilling all'italiana that's 'new' to me. I thought this one was very interestingly structured, and Romano Scavolini's photography (all wide-angle lenses and prowling POV shots) gave the deserted villa a strong sense of decay and pervading threat.'You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. Anyone know if any of the other Film Art titles have 'secret' English subs?
Thanks for the list of titles, Stephen.I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

I don't think this has been mentioned.
In Italy, a new DVD release of Umberto Lenzi's EYEBALL/GATTI ROSSI IN UN LABIRINTO DI VETRO surfaced in September.
It wouid seem to be English-friendly. I wonder if it's a significant upgrade over the admittedly weak German Marketing Film release.'You know, I'd almost forgotten what your eyes looked like. Still the same. Pissholes in the snow'
