WHO SAW HER DIE? (Anchor Bay DVD - did BU ever rerelease this?) - great, Venice-set one with unique Morricone score
Shameless have released it. I have been eyeing that one up, along with My Dear Killer also on Shameless.

The NOSHAME and Mediablasters stuff is extremely hard to find at a respectable price. I have managed to track down an unofficial copy of NoShames Your vice is a locked room. I should receive that tomorrow. I cant track down case of the Scorpions tail. Its way too pricey. I also keep checking out some of the camera obscura stuff that's still in print (Nine guests for a crime and Spirits of evil). If they had been bluray I may have jumped but they are also too expensive for sd. it took me a while to convince myself to buy Killer reserved Nine seats.

Jump on it! The climax is clumsy, but imo WHO SAW HER DIE? is an amazing film. I haven't seen the Shameless disc, but by all accounts it's on par with the US Anchor Bay disc.

It's a shame the NoShame US project went belly up. There are some good releases of thrilling all'italiana films/gialli in Italy, but most of them aren't English-friendly. The NoShame discs filled a gap, at least for a while.

THE CASE OF THE SCORPION'S TAIL isn't bad. X-Rated released it in Germany also, but that disc was non-anamorphic and is probably just as hard to find for a reasonable price as the NoShame DVD. I'm not sure if there are any cheaper releases of that title.

What's the Emilio Miraglia film "The Night that Evelyn came out of the grave" like? Is it in fact a Giallo?. I really liked Red queen. I believe Noshame released this also in Italy. Confused about the language options as on amazon Italy it lists it as Italian, whereas dvdcompare says it has English and Italian options.

I like EVELYN. It's definitely a thriller (and therefore a giallo by definition - though more of the paranoid melodrama strand, like ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK, than the black-gloved-killer type).

I don't have the Italian NoShame release to hand, but the first pressings, at least, definitely included the English dub - which was quite unusual for an Italian release from NoShame.

Alternatively, there's an Australian DVD: http://www.fishpond.co.uk/Movies/Nig.../9327478009764

The film was supposed to come out on Blu-ray in Australia last year, but I'm not sure whether or not that release materialised.

I love Evelyn. Not a traditional giallo but its just a really fun slice of 70s murder mystery weirdness with a bit of s&m kink thrown in for good measure. Ive got three or four copies as it took a while for anyone to release a decent disc. The No Shame release is tops. Great as it though I'm an even bigger fan of Seven Women For Satan which clearly used Evelyn as its template but delivered an even more bizzare flick that has some of the most quotable dialogue in history.

Here's a few more I thought of that I'd recommend:

LIZARD IN A WOMAN'S SKIN - Another intriguing Fulci - the best DVD option for you is probably the Studio Canal/Optimum.
THE BLOODSTAINED BUTTERFLY and PUZZLE - both directed by Duccio Tessari (DEATH OCCURRED LAST NIGHT), the former in particular is a must, best DVD is the Eyecatcher/NEW disc, PUZZLE is on disc from Another World.
RINGS OF FEAR - The third in the "schoolgirls in peril" trilogy (the other two are WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SOLANGE? and WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOUR DAUGHTERS?), Dallamano sadly wasn't able to direct this one but it's still very solid, and quite sleazy as well. I guess the best option is the Eyecatcher DVD.

Also, someone (Shameless?) supposedly has EYE IN THE LABYRINTH in the pipeline, if and when that is released I highly recommend it.
Scratch that, it's Code Red so who knows if or when it'll happen. It's a really good one though, maybe the best of the lot as far as unreleased gialli go.

All good choices. I've always liked RINGS OF FEAR; I think it's quite underrated. The narrative is confused: the Dallamano script was apparently rewritten a number of times by different writers (IIRC six people are credited with writing the thing). I've also always had the feeling that the film was quite heavily restructured during postproduction: the elliptical structure seems to suggest this, and there are also a number of stills depicting scenes that aren't anywhere close to any of the scenes in the finished film. (That's not definitive evidence, admittedly, but the narrative threads that are left unresolved - the Kaufmann-Testi relationship, for example - may suggest as much.) It's got sleaze in abundance, however.

Diabolik has a new release from the German (?) company that's got a line of giallo discs - LOVE AND DEATH IN THE GARDEN OF THE GODS. Stars Peter Lee Lawrence and Erika Blanc (who also appeared in the similarly titled LOVE AND DEATH ON THE EDGE OF A RAZOR, which I have a boot of. Not a particularly good film). Haven't seen this one - the Blood and Black Lace book rates it fairly well overall. English subs are included.

Love and Death in the Garden of the Gods (PAL Region 2) aka Amore e morte nel giardino degli dei

A professor of ornithology rents a secluded villa near Spoleto. Away from the noise of the city he wants to work alone on a new bird study. During a walk in the forest, near the estate, he finds a series of old tapes.
Fascinated by the discovery he cleans it and starts to hear them piece by piece and learns of the horrible love-hate relationship between brother and sister Riviera and Manfredi. One day the professor returns from one of his walks returns only to find a mysterious strange has left another tape!!

My pleasure, Paul (good to see you getting some time to post here) - I've put in my order at Les Diaboliques...looking forward to seeing this. From what I've read it sounds like a fairly offbeat one.

Took a Halloween season revisit to THE HOUSE WITH LAUGHING WINDOWS today...it's a film I've seen probably 9 or 10 times now and yet this time it creeped me out in way it's never done before. I've always loved it and consider it one of the very best Italian horror films but something about the overpowering sense of depravity and decay that builds subtly over the course of the film really struck me this time. The isolated locales really add to the dread too. It's a film that stays with you long after it's over. I would be thrilled if someone released this on blu-ray.

ZEDER is great too, think I'll rewatch that one this week. Too bad Avati didn't make a few more horror films around this time. THE ARCANE ENCHANTER is terrific as well, though very different from these two.

Grand Piano a 2012 film with Elijah Wood and John Cusack about a pianist who during his comeback show is threatened by some kind of psychopath via an earpiece had very Giallo vibes. Not a great film by any means, but it felt Giallo-esque in its far fetched plot and in its mood.
