That's good enough - thanks for that, Rakesh, I appreciate it.
Wish I knew for sure if this was coming out in RA or not... so tempted!

I got around to seeing the "Celestine" blu ray. It's a really good transfer and easily blows previous versions out of the water. Edition Tonfilm have taken a page out of Kino's hands off releases, meaning that while there are various film artifacts( i.e. specks, scratches) present, it looks beautifully film like with natural grain and nice colors. There is an inherent softness in some shots, but no DNR of any kind present. Sound is alright( nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done). Alas, no English language or English subtitles, but hey, Lina Romay looking positively gorgeous( and naked a lot of the time) in HD is good enough for me:). A minor Franco flick IMHO, but enjoyable none the less with a couple of inspired gags.

I would've liked to know too before ordering this one but since I speak French (first language), I was more than tempted and gave in.
An English subtitled release is surely in the works. The only thing is: if it is by Mondo Macabro (since there was rumor they had another Franco title coming besides PLAISIR í€ TROIS), that probably means no Blu, right ? And Artus Films in France said they're not sure about Blu either and if it would be considered, it won't be before 2013. Although they would not include English subs either. Maybe Severin will suprise us ? Hmmmm...
In any case, there's FEMALE VAMPIRE and EXORCISM coming in October from Kino/Redemption so that is good news for Franco in Blu !

I'm with you. I'm tempted by the import but don't want to find out a few weeks later that a proper subtitled version is in the works.

I wish I knew definitively if this were slated for USA release. If I buy the region B without subs or dub now, will I wish I had waited in a couple of months?
When the European edition goes on sale the domestic companies ought to say something definite.

Argh. Subtitles or no subtitles, I am so severely tempted by this.

The listings are up at D&T:

3 versions: 2 Blu-ray/DVD combos and a single Blu-ray release. As far as I can tell (I don't speak German), the only differences between the combos seem to be the packaging. Am I right ? As for extras, Google gave me this:
Leaflet with information and many images from around the world
* German Trailer
* Alternative "unclothed" bonus scene, so never been published, followed by additional scenes
* Rohvorspann (???)
