      • Fulci for Fake is now on Prime in the UK. The interviews are interesting, but the format is bizarre. I could really do without the hairy man-tits too.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

Excellent stuff. And I say this as someone with hairy man-tits. (I'm told the girrrls find them attractive.)

                • If you're on the Twitters (and all the cool kids aren't), as it's the 40th Anniversary of THE BEYOND, I've made myself a little project of posting daily (or sometimes more) about the film. Going to start at the beginning and work my way through it. Wish me luck

Ooh, very interested in this. Far from Fulci's best but a good time all the same.

kind of an update for this:

they're still trying to release it (4k restoration) but the negative is in real bad shape and unusable. blue underground had access to the original elements of CONTRABAND recently in order to create an HD master for a BD release, but they abandoned the project because the elements were in such bad shape. now they (filmart) are trying to use 2 or 3 archival prints to achieve the best possible results.
+ the interview with fabio testi won't happen because he joined the italian celebrity version of big brother, then corona happened, then they never heard of him again.

                      release date: "maybe this year".

here are some "work in progress" screenshots:

                            • Yes, it's a nice surprise to read a Guardian piece on non-mainstream culture that's not defined by condescension, factual errors and general point-missing.

                              • I'm thinking the reaction of many Guardian readers on seeing a Fulci film would be like the right on liberal parents in Matinee when the see Mant.
