Yeah, that would shock me to I guess. Also, it would be hilarious if that was Shias only appearance in the film. No lines, just a proper assfucking by Dafoe.

I would be shocked, but then I would laugh a whole lot. And then I would be shocked again.

How would you feel if Shia got raped by a talking fox?

With all of that chaos reigning....well, I'm sure that I wouldn't get it.

Haha...Shia and Defoe would get a reaction for sure, I wouldn't be surprised if Von Trier went in that direction. I remember when I saw Crash in the mainstream theatre in town and everyone sat there in silence during all the sex scenes EXCEPT for when Spader and Koteas have sex and then they freaked out with cries of disgust, etc. So: humping a disfigured leg, okay, gay sex, not okay.

I think that our society is kind of pretend-liberal when it comes to pornography, there's certainly still a stigma around it or even just films with overt sexuality. American films are very chaste today compared to the 70s or even 80s, in the 70s almost every drama had an obligatory sex scene and as we all know you couldn't make a teen comedy in the US without at least one boob shot in the 80s.

I was uncomfortable through that entire film, haha. I don't remember being any more disgusted by the gay sex, but I certainly remember that they could've used the word "anus" less. As a matter of fact, I recall Ian yelling "stop saying anus!!!!" at the screen.

I remember that too. I think it holds the record for the most times the word 'anus' is said in the history of film.

This thread has taken strange turns.

I think anyone would be, unless they were a pervert for car crashes and disfigurement. I remember the book used the word cervix a lot more than I've ever seen before, Ballard studied medicine before becoming a writer.

Magnolia announced today that they've picked up the domestic distribution rights to Nymphomaniac.

And apparently Von Trier is going to be using CGI to put 'stars' faces onto players in the hardcore scenes in then movie.

"We shot the actors pretending to have sex and then had the body doubles who really did have sex and in post we will digital impose the two. So above the waist it will be the star and the below the waist it will be the doubles."

                            Weird.

The PR machine for Nymphomaniac is going in some unusual directions.

                              CHAPTER ONE

                              The Compleat Angler

How does an ordinary bag of chocolate sweets become a symbol of sexual victory?

As Joe and her experienced friend B embark on a train trip, they bet on how many men they can seduce on the ride.

The grand prize is a delicious bag of chocolate sweets, and it soon becomes clear to Joe that in order to win, she needs to lure the prey into biting the hook like a skilled fisherman.
