Possible this will be TOP SENSATION, which would be less earth shattering ( although if they could better the German release I'm in ).

Probably a more likely candidate, given the rights issues that have previously entangled GIALLO A VENEZIA.

They confirmed this morning that yes, it is Top Sensation. Which is fine news for those without the Camera Obscura release but DAMN IT.

That forum is a design disaster and very difficult to scan. Is this going to be blu?

Bah. Have the CS disc already, and don't even really dig the movie all that much, to be honest. Would've much preferred Giallo a Venezia, but a different label would probably do it more justice, anyway.

damn, I knew this was too good to be true! "giallo a venezia" seems to be cursed somehow. rights issues, problems with censorship, many different versions and the surviving material seems to be in bad shape too -- at least that's what I heard.

and frankly speaking... when was the last time shameless released something relevant?! maybe that frankenstein-cut of "footprints on the moon" in 2009.

I will say I enjoyed their discs of Ratman and Phantom of Death. Nice to have those on disc with good transfers.

                    Giallo a Venezia (1979) BD

Looks like Code Red are releasing this Mario Landi masterpiece. This will be fun as to what version. Complete with hardcore inserts?

According to IMDB there's a 91min version as well as a 99min (uncut) version. Hope they include both versions.

WOW! It's like the white whale of Italian genre cinema just got sighted. Let's just see if Code Red can harpoon it too. The question is: I thought there didn't exist good materials for this film, and that's why it's been absent since the VHS days? Now a poster (here on this board I believe?) said all Italian films released by Code Red will be new scans and fully uncut directly from the OCN, but if there is a complete OCN for this film, why hasn't it been released up until now? Maybe prohibitive licensing costs, or the elements need a lot of work? I have a hard time understanding why, for instance, Camera Obscura wouldn't have released this by now? It's like right up their alley.

                      Anyway, day 1 purchase obviously.

As I recall, the reason it hasn't been released previously is that the rightsholders only wanted to license it as part of big package deal with other titles. which looks like what Code Red has now done.

I have changed my avatar and signature in light of this great announcement!

I truly hope Code Red give us the option to watch this with the XXX scenes as VHS inserts, if nothing else. I believe these were only present on some obscure Portugese VHS or something, so they probably aren't in the original cinema version of the film. But in my opinion they really add to the grime and total sleaze factor of the film.

I don't recall there being XXX inserts. There is a pornier version of the film of course but I don't recall there being penetration shots. I've seen this version and was horribly bored with it, Joe D'Amato fuck scenes it does not rival.

I just watched the fan composite lat week and there is most definitely an explicit shot in the theater where the patron is playing jack rabbit with his thunder stick.
There rest of the footage included are just extensions of scenes ect and seemed the film played better with them in there.

Strange, I remember some explicit shots, at least some female and male masturbation?

                                EDIT:
Ok, so mr. Bernhard answered this. I thought there was more, but it's been a while since I saw it, and considering how sleazy it is overall my imagination has probably run wild with the memories from it.
