  • I'm really starting to think that Kino/Redemption is just using spine numbers to screw with the heads of OCD collectors. Female Vampire and Exorcism are spine numbers 22 and 23 respectively. So now 13, 20, and 21 are all missing in action.

makes me wonder if Black Sunday and Lisa and the Devil were conceived as being 20 and 21 until the rights issues intervened (still not sure what the reason was why they can't be called Redemption titles)...presumably since Baron Blood and Kidnapped are part of the same bloc of titles, they won't have spine numbers either...

    • I think VISIONS OF ECSTASY will be #13.

EDIT: Not so sure anymore. Redemption responded to someone on FB that the announcement is coming soon, but it's "really special, very unexpected and fiendishly clever!"

Also of interest: NUDE FOR SATAN in 5/13, and they're looking into releasing some Naschy titles apparently (but those would be in 2914).

        • I watched BLACK SUNDAY last night and really wasn't that all impressed with the transfer. It isn't the worst I've seen but it just didn't do a heck of a lot for me. Will compare it to the back up copy of my old Image dvd and see what I'm missing. Have to classify it as a disappointment.

EDIT: While the bd does look much better than my non anamorphic backup dvd the transfer is still just so so in my opinion. I know they had to work with the materials on hand but this isn't all that and a bag of chips.

            • Was Kino/Redemption supposed to release A VIRGIN AMONG THE LIVING DEAD in the future or did I dream it?

Yeah, it's supposed to be on the slate for early next year, as I recall...

                  • For those interested, the Pete Walker Collection has a big ol' REGION A logo on the back.

                    • I think the only Kino releases to be region-locked so far are the Bava's, and UK releases were announced shortly thereafter. My guess would be that the same will happen with these, which might actually suit me better because I'm only really interested in upgrading House of Whipcord.

                      • Even if you're only a casual fan of the other three movies, the transfers are much better here than the past DVDs.

                        • I really like THE COMEBACK. It's got some very graphic murders, particularly that first one. And Walker constantly cuts back to that undiscovered body as it slowly rots. It's pretty damn disturbing. I'm looking forward to revisiting all these, those Media Blasters discs and SCHIZO were not much to look at.
