It's been called “top-notch entertainment” (Rock! Shock! Pop!), “a rip-roaring riot of Italian exploitation” (DVD Beaver) and “a weird cross between ROMANCING THE STONE and CANNIBAL FEROX” (The Video Graveyard). Now experience the wildest '80s cannibal movie you've never seen scanned uncut in 4k from the original negative: Michael Sopkiw (BLASTFIGHTER, KILLER FISH) stars as a cocky paleontologist who crash-lands into a jungle hell chockfull of fashion models, graphic violence, rampant nudity, and tasty gobs of flesh-chomping mayhem. Marta Anderson (BARE BEHIND BARS) co-stars in this ”fromaggio gem from another era” (Bloody Good Horror) - also released as AMAZONAS and CANNIBAL FEROX II - co-written by the legendary Dardano Sacchetti (THE BEYOND, DEMONS) that B&S About Movies says “delivers on everything it promises, except dinosaurs.”

    Special Features:

Valley Boy - Interview with Actor Michael Sopkiw
Lost in Brazil - Interview with Co-Writer Dardano Sacchetti
    Deleted and Extended Scenes Reel
    Trailer
    Italian credits
    Reversible Wrap
    Exclusive Slipcover

    Rock! Shock! Pop!

Hell yeah! I avoided the cut 88 films release. I also sprung for the Austrian (I think it was) mediabook but got stiffed by a scammer so after that I gave up on it. Totally will be getting this. It's a fun movie. Sucks though that there's no Sopkiw commentary. I mean he does interviews so why not have him sit down for some commentaries?

Even though the Austrian BD is UNCUT, it comes from an older HD compaired to the UK release & doesn't include Italian audio.

Uncut always wins over censorship in my book. :-)

sopkiw rules! never bought the uk-release because it was cut. so almost all big cannibal movies have a blu-ray release now, am I right?
would be cool if somebody would release last cannibal world/jungle holocaust again. I'm not buying the code red version, this flick deserves better treatment!

What is the Code Red releas of Last Cannibal World like? They should've called it Last Cannibal World & NOT Jungle Holocaust considering the former is the on screen title on BOTH versions.

Going by this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannibal_film The following have NOT had BD releases

Papaya, Love Goddess of the Cannibals (1978)
We're Going to Eat You (1980)
            Orgasmo Nero (1980)
            Mondo Cannibale (aka Cannibals) (1980)
Cannibal Love (1982) - This has had NO release of ANY kind, even on DVD
In the Land of the Cannibals (2003)
            Mondo Cannibal (2003)

To be fair, it is more known as Jungle Holocaust for obvious reasons.

the bozos @bluray.com gave it 4/5, but I don't know ... looks weird to my eyes, too flat, waxy and black crush.

considering what other labels did with the same transfers of other code red blu-rays (cry of a prostitute, cannibal man, street law ...) I'll wait for something better.

Last Cannibal World is the literal translation of the Italian title & is therefore a much better & more correct title than Jungle Holocaust.

Is the Spanish release of Cannibal Man better than the Code Red one?

don't know. isn't the spanish release a bootleg? I was talking about the german release (subkultur):
                      https://www.amazon.de/Cannibal-Man-G...9231149&sr=8-2

the code red blu-ray has a 3-legged dog, check it out:

I have the Geman release & it is the shorter version.

The Spanish version is the same version of the film as the Code Red one but with more extras.

the scenes from the longer cut are in the bonus features (deleted scenes) and shouldn't be in the movie anyway I believe.
anything special about them? I can't remember anymore.

They were just extended comedy scenes.

Have to disagree a bit with Ian on the Severin release... looks to me like another one of Severin's [censored] encodes. I guess they must employ different people/companies for different projects since some of their releases do have good encoding... How about just using the ones who know what they're doing...

No opinion on the color grading.

EDIT: The 88 links need to be right click copy and paste into new tab otherwise they probably won't open.
