Los Angeles CA- Respected boutique film distributor Altered Innocence has acquired all U.S .rights for the acclaimed doc on the life and career of erotic cult film auteur Walerian Borowczyk, Love Express: The Disappearance Of Walerian Borowczyk.
How does a filmmaker go from creating cutting-edge work and competing in Cannes to being labelled a failed erotic filmmaker? The debut documentary feature from Polish critic and academic Kuba Mikurda, Love Express: The Disappearance Of Walerian Borowczyk investigates the work of Walerian Borowczyk, a director of unparalleled creativity & sensitivity, revered in the 1970s for creations including Goto, Island of Love, The Beast, & Immoral Tales. The film interviews his closest collaborators, filmmakers, and leading intellectuals who put his work into perspective, including Bertrand Bonello, Neil Jordan, Patrice Leconte, Slavoj Žižek, Terry Gilliam and the late Andrzej Wajda.
The deal was brokered by Frank Jaffe of Altered Innocence and Katarzyna Siniarska on behalf of sales agent New Europe Films Sales. The documentary was produced in association with HBO Europe.
A U.S. virtual and traditional cinema release slated for August 21st, with VOD, Digital and Blu-Ray release to follow."
