"The incomparable Federico Fellini (La Dolce Vita) directs this visually stunning portrait of Casanova, the infamous Italian womanizer, adventurer, author and libertine. In a remarkable performance, Donald Sutherland (MASH) portrays the great seducer not as an amorous anomaly, but an everyday man living in extraordinary times. Featuring dazzling European settings (although it was filmed entirely in Rome), an unforgettable musical score by Nino Rota (The Godfather), and Academy Award®-winning costumes, Fellini's Casanova is a cinematic experience to fall in love with.
Special Features:
-Alternate Italian audio
-Audio commentary by film critic Nick Pinkerton
-Booklet essay by film scholar Alberto Zambenedetti PhD"

Is the French release English friendly?
The French release has an English track but no subtitles if one wanted to watch with the Italian dub.
Judging by these sites the UK release (Bongo?) has English subs as well and has the same PQ as the OOP French release sans the extras and region coding (which kinda suggests it's a boot.)
While the UK does offer both English dubs and subs, DVDBeaver were not that impressed with the subtitles.

I can't see Kino improving on these releases but I've been wrong before.
