How fucking cool is that! (Not the bundle, but the movies). Looks like a great set. I'm definitely in!

I'd love to pick up this set, but since Diabolik have nixed international orders (I have store credit with them too, darn it), I'm at a loss when it comes to figuring out a safe/affordable way to get a copy to the UK at the moment...
Oh well - worse things happen at sea, etc. If it sells out before the postage situation improves, hopefully Severin will be putting out individual releases of at least some of the films at some point.

Re: Diabolik's shipping charges, I'm sure value will vary between countries, but from the UK POV I think they're fairly reasonable so long as you stick to ordering multiple items or box sets. The fact that they're, ahem, "customs friendly" generally makes them the best option for avoiding eye-watering import charges on single big ticket items, as in this case.

These have now begun shipping. Got a notification from Severin by e-mail two days ago. Now for the inevitable ass raping by the customs in a few weeks. :-/ They've been really diligent with US parcels lately. NOTHING have slipped through.
Let's hope Severin didn't botch anything with the discs, like they did with Strange Vice Of Mrs Wardh.

There is a review for A Quiet Place to Kill on Blu-ray.com. Also a poster over there noted that with So Sweet So Perverse if you select a soundtrack and change it during playback it reverts to the initial track at the next chapter. It plays fine if you don't change the audio on the fly, but it is an annoying bug.

Orgasmo looks the worst apparently. But still decent according to some. Others call it flat and lacking detail saying it's barely above dvd in quality. The Severin thread over at the blu-ray.com forum is a shit show, lol.
The box seems like it's decent overall. I can live with the authoring fuck up with the subtitles
and the audio. I never toggle between subs/sound during playback anyway. I choose an option
in the menu and stick with it.
Mine is still in transit but as it stands now I think I'll be happy with the set.

Well, my copy of this set arrived on the doorstep this morning - cost an arm and a leg, but what else am I gonna do this summer, go on holiday?
Not to be a packaging bore or anything, but the heavyweight case these discs are stored in is really solid and stylish - a huge step up from the plain cardboard sleeves used on the other Severin box sets I've bought, so full marks to 'em on that score at least.
I've not seen any of the films before, so looking forward to them, but at the same time keeping my expectations in check. So long as they've got folks in hip threads swanking around the Med accompanied by Umiliani / Ortolani music, I'll be happy. Anything else is a bonus.
That said though, does anyone have any advice on the best way to, ahem, experience 'Orgasmo' this weekend? The Italian "director's cut" or the "X-rated U.S. verson"? I've not read any reviews thus far, and the packaging is less than forthcoming re: the differences between the two.

However, Orgasmo is easily the most psychologically intense of these movies, with Baker a transfixing presence as Kathryn/Catherine is put through the emotional wringer of manipulation and cruelty. She also disrobes on several occasions - and even more nudity is on view in Paranoia, the X-rated U.S. cut included in this set. Despite the additional skin, this edition is about seven minutes shorter than the Italian one and is missing several concluding scenes, eliminating the motivations behind the plot and the original twist ending! Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?
