He's super uneven. Some of his films are fantastic, and some are complete garbage. He's really all over the place.

His xenophobia and obvious hatred for the West does him no favors. Didn't he intentionally release one of his movies with fucked up subtitles as a fuck you to non-French speakers?

Contempt, Pierrot le fou, and A Woman is a Woman are the three I liked. I still need to watch Week End and Band of Outsiders (well, there is probably 2 or 3 dozen of his movies I haven't seen, but these seem to be the big two I haven't gotten around to.)

I think of myself as a Godard fan but now I stop to think about it that's based entirely on Breathless. Band Of Outsiders is okay-ish. Then things get rough. Hate Weekend, hate Alphaville, hated plenty of them. Still haven't seen Contempt though. That looks like it would be more my speed than many of them.
