Another thriller from Hammer Films arrives from us next year in the form of THE WITCHES (also known as THE DEVIL'S OWN) from 1966 starring Joan Fontaine (Rebecca) embroiled in all sorts of devilish mayhem. Blu-ray streets on March 19th.
Haunted by the terrors of her experience with African witch doctors, school teacher Gwen Mayfield (Fontaine) accepts an appointment as headmistress at the Haddaby School run by Alan Bax (Alec McCowen, Frenzy) and his sister Stephanie (Kay Walsh, Stage Fright). Gwen initially revels in the peacefulness she has found in the quiet English countryside but soon begins to sense "undercurrents." Before long, a local boy falls into a coma and Gwen discovers a voodoo doll impaled by pins. The danger that follows brings her face to face with witchcraft as a series of disasters unfold and lead her to the horrible truth.

Update from Shout! Factory
"**QUATERMASS II & QUATERMASS AND THE PIT - Moving Dates**
Good morning all. Our previously-announced Blu-ray releases of Hammer Films' QUATERMASS II and QUATERMASS AND THE PIT are moving. They were originally scheduled for 5/14 and their new planned national release date is now 7/30.
Unfortunately, we ran into some unexpected issues with the film transfers. We're confident that PIT will be fine but QUATERMASS II is going to require some more digging into. While working on our new transfer from the elements provided, we found the last two reels were too damaged to move forward. We are currently looking for another film element and will keep you posted of our progress.
Thank you for your understanding and stay tuned for developments. "Rock! Shock! Pop!

What strange power made her half woman, half snake?
"Director John Gilling's creepy tale about a small village in Cornwall suffering from an outbreak of mysterious deaths is one that should not be missed." - Bloody Disgusting
A deadly epidemic is spreading through the remote Cornish village of Clagmoor Heath. As darkness falls, its victims are found foaming at the mouth with savage wounds on their necks. After his brother falls prey to the "black death," Harry Spalding (Ray Barrett, Terror From Under The House) travels with his new wife (Jennifer Daniel, The Kiss of the Vampire) to Clagmoor to investigate his sibling's mysterious death. With little help from the unfriendly locals, Harry follows a trail of clues that leads him to the sinister Dr. Franklyn (Noel Willman, The Vengeance Of She), the doctor's strange, but beautiful daughter (Jacqueline Pearce, Doctor Who) ... and a horrific family secret.
