  • Deep Red Blu-ray from Blue Underground

Nothing to say, really - I'm reviewing the disc for DVD Talk but figured I'd post some screen caps here cause, well, I can.

    Dig it.

Kay, get on to the stuff about the audio, the ending, the subtitles....any flaws? Subs appearing before the lines? Chopped audio? Freeze frame endings? The disc looks great, and it's one that i'll definitely pick up.

I haven't done anything except skim it yet, but I'll get to it.

Learn how to do your own screencaps, learn how to post reviews in the first place and do more than one review every 3-4 weeks and then call me lazy.

              Zing!

And Tolch, no, I didn't get to it last night but I will this weekend. There are a couple of other reviews up for it already and all signs point to awesome.

Audio is good, transfer even better - complete end credits are there.

When I have a bit more spare cash, remind me buy this, Inferno and Daughters of Darkness. Blue Underground BDs are always good value. I don't need a million extras, with crappy cartoon intros, as I usually only ever watch bonus crap once and then that's it. The film is always the number one reason I buy anything, and usually sole repeat viewing value. ;)

Did you really expect Lustig to screw this one up?

Unlike that problematical "other" company BU almost always get it right. Funnily enough the only transfers that I think don't look that great are Lustig's own films UNCLE SAM and MANIAC. Have not seen STENDHAL so cannot comment there but VIGILANTE at least looks fine.

This looks like the DEFINITIVE DEEP RED set and I cannot wait for it.

It's light on extras, that's really the only complaint I can levy. But like Mike says, it's the movie that matters, and it looks and sounds very good here.

5/17, currently $14.99 at Amazon. Can't argue with that price.
