I haven't seen the film but was thinking of buying it solely for that cover art! Plus the review on IMDB sounds promising. Looking forward to reading what people say about the film & the new release.

Watched this tonight. Really good little film, very grim. The presentation is absolutely delightful, as always from Camera Obscura. These guys are the best in the business when it comes to Italian genre cinema (well, maybe tied with Arrow's top notch editions of more high profile Italian films; the Bava's, Argento's, Zombi 2, etc.). I'm not much for bonus material, seldom have the time to really delve into it, but I actually had a look at their interview with Dallessandro and it was fascinating.

I watched it the other night too, full review up soon, but yeah, this is really a well made film. Dallesandro is in fine form and the supporting cast really bring their A game as well. And yes, the Blu is up to CO's typically high standards. Both interviews are great.

For some reason I didn't feel the urge to snap this one up. Maybe I will sometime soon.

Enrico Maria Salerno is also really good in this, but he's always great at playing detectives. I agree with you Ian, it's very well made, not at all rough around the edges like many others in this genre. The theme of the film - the new kind of criminal, who isn't motivated by politics, money or honour, but instead kills and rapes for fun; the nihilistic delinquent, often from a well off social context, who feels trapped in a grey monotonous existence like a rat in a cage, and whose hatred towards society explodes in random acts of violence, directed at anyone who stands in their path - is by no means unique in the "Violence For Kicks" subgenre, but I think it's better realised in Fango Bollente than in many other films of its ilk.

This one blew me away. Incredible movie.

                    *SPOILERS*

Dallesandro making funeral arrangements for his wife right after he poisons her - and right after her promotion at work - is one of the sickest scenes in a while. A shirtless Dallesandro terrorizing a naked woman while driving a forklift(!) comes in a close second. This movie is the best!
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?
