I seriously LOVE this film! Probably one of the best Nature Run Amok films, only one I can say I like better offhand is Long Weekend.

This is a forgotten classic of the killer animal genre. Essential viewing for Euro Trash enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys killer animal flicks.

Definitely looking forward to this film. I remember wanting to order the Euro. release (dvd, I think?) but never got around to it due to the price.

A post over on blu-ray.com by Bruce Holecheck says Burial Ground may be coming around the same time. I think Severin has the best releases lined up!

This is the best nature run amok film ever made. The animal footage is astounding and varied. The CO DVD has an amazing transfer, so I don't know if I need to upgrade.
Why would anybody watch a scum show like Videodrome? Why did you watch it, Max?

Yes, Severin hosted a theatrical screening of this in LA about a month or so ago and confirmed that they would be releasing to video soon.

Not upgrading either, but great news for those who don't own the Austrian release. There was actually a Scandinavian release of this also, but I hear the transfer wasn't so hot. And, more importantly, the CO release has the most KILLER artwork in the history of the world:

                From Severin's FB page:

"Second of three Halloween artwork reveals of titles we'll be releasing on blu early 2017: WILD BEASTS. Just finishing up the subs on the multiple featurettes then this creature is ready to be unleashed!"

It was also the same cut version as the Lightning VHS.

Press release for the Severin disc.

The Insane '80s Film By The Co-Creator of MONDO CANE and GOODBYE UNCLE TOM - Remastered For The First Time Ever In America!

For his sole cinematic work of the past three decades, Godfather Of Mondo Franco E. Prosperi took on the 'Nature Strikes Back' genre and delivered perhaps the most shocking movie of his controversial career: When PCP gets into the water supply of a city zoo, the drug-crazed beasts - including tigers, lions, cheetahs, hyenas and elephants, as well as seeing eye dogs and sewer rats - go berserk and rampage through the streets of Rome. What follows is a terrifying mix of actual animal attacks (supervised by professional circus trainers) and over-the- top '80s Italian gore that remains the greatest eco-revenge shocker in EuroCult history. Lorraine De Selle (CANNIBAL FEROX, HOUSE AT THE EDGE OF THE PARK) and Ugo Bologna (NIGHTMARE CITY) star in this disturbing urban bloodbath, now digitally remastered for the first time ever and bursting with all-new Special Features!

                      Raped by man,
                      Natural revolts.

That's a pretty bad ass tagline.

I'd love if Severin could release Mondo Candido, the final collaboration of the Mondo kings from 1975.

I believe the rights are tangled for Candido in the US. That's why it wasn't included in the BU Mondo box. The Camera Obscura is excellent, but sadly not a BD.

This might be the best animal attack film ever.
Instead of one creature or a pack the same animals, you got a whole zoo gone crazy.
Plenty of action and some very impressive scenes.
The cheetah running in the streets and chasing a car is particularly cool.

I haven't seen every single film from the sub-genre but it could very well be the best killer animal flick. Either this or Cujo or Man's Best Friend (1993).
