At the height of the Italian giallo boom in the early 1970s, scores of filmmakers turned their hand to crafting their own unique takes on these lurid murder-mystery thrillers. This limited edition double pack features two distinctive offerings by Emilio P. Miraglia, which meld twisty whodunit narratives with gothic chills.

In The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave, troubled aristocrat Alan Cunningham (Anthony Steffen, Django the B*stard), haunted by the death of his first wife Evelyn, tries to move on by marrying the seductive Gladys (Marina Malfatti, All the Colours of the Dark). Marital bliss is short-lived, however, as various relatives meet untimely and gruesome deaths, prompting speculation that a vengeful Evelyn has risen from the grave...

Meanwhile, in The Red Queen Kills Seven Times, an age-old family curse hits sisters Kitty (Barbara Bouchet, Milano Calibro 9) and Franziska (Marina Malfatti) following the death of their grandfather Tobias (Rudolf Schí¼ndler, The Exorcist, Suspiria). Every hundred years, so the legend goes, the bloodthirsty Red Queen returns and claims seven fresh victims. Was Tobias just the first... and are Kitty and Franziska next?
With both films making their worldwide Blu-ray debuts in stunning new 2K restorations, there has never been a better time to explore these little-seen giallo gems!

More gialli on blu-ray is always welcome and I'll get these for sure...but it'd be nice to maybe get some that haven't had a DVD release before. No stinky figure included with these I guess? I still have mine on display, the years have taken the edge off that foul funk.

Be nice to see some kind of special feature on Nicolai's scores for these films, even if the man himself is no longer with us I'm sure someone like John Bender would be willing to speak about these fantastic soundtracks. Nicolai had an incredible run there doing gialli scores, they rival (and sometimes best imo) Morricone's work in the genre.
I don't go to church. Kneeling bags my nylons.

These are both favorites of mine, really cool of Arrow to be putting out a block of Barbara/Erika/Nieves Gialli close together. I was watching Case Of The Bloody Iris again last Friday, and I wonder if that and some of the other top Edwige ones (All The Colors, Strange Vice) are going to come out.

These look very cool! A new Bouchet interview would have been nice, though. Has she done any other English friendly interviews?

Yeah. I mentioned this at the Blu-ray.com forums, the RED QUEEN cover would be alright if it was only the killer, but if your cover would look better without Barbara Bouchet, you have completely failed. (and the cover for NIGHT, )

I can't wait for this to be released, I never did see either of these films before, I missed them on DVD, but now that they are coming to blu ray I am going to get them and finally see them after meaning to for several years now. And Arrow has done some really good extras it seems. I love the work Arrow puts into their releases, at least most of them, they seem to put out amazing releases for everything they do, I was so glad when they expanded their release to the United States.

It appears Marina Malfatti died yesterday :(

And just so this post isn't so depressing, not sure who else on here is a doom metal fanatic but the Italian doom band Abysmal Grief used a still from Red Queen as the cover for their 2013 album Feretri:

LA PASIÓN ESPAÑOL: THE EROTIC MELODRAMAS OF VICENTE ARANDA (1991-1999)
