Has anybody here seen "Pinku Eiga: Inside the Pleasure Dome Of Japanese Erotic Cinema", the 2011 documentary by French filmmaker Yves Montmayeur.

Is there an English-subtitled copy of this movie on DVD or digital?

Not sure if anyone here is interested () but on 4th of October... RED VIOLATION ON DVD.
(but why not a blu... they must have scanned it recently :P )

The Blu list started fine I think when I started from December 2016 and going backwards but... oh well. :cuckoo: Not that I know anything about most of the movies. The BOLD and the bluetiful titles are BLU-RAYs. The others first time on DVD (most of them, but not all, I think are already available as VOD). All from Happinet. Obviously no English subs. I went through the lists quickly so errors are possible. And I have no idea why they revealed all of them now. Hopefully it is not an error and I just ruined everything... I'm pretty sure the titles were not there an hour or two ago but appeared when I refreshed some time later.

But maybe we will get more next year. I mean, how is it even possible that Flower and Snake and Wife to be Sacrificed are not on the list? I hate both films, but they are some of Nikkatsu's best cash cows.

I'd like to know why the Synapse Blu of ZOOM UP-RAPE SITE has been delayed for so long. Your listing suggests it is DVD-only in Japan, or VOD only?

Nice to see titles such as ASSAULT JACK THE RIPPER, LOVE HOTEL, LOVE LETTER, WOODS ARE WET on Blu and RED VIOLATION on DVD.

The films will be presented in the same form as before. The censorings, if any, are in the original prints. You wouldn't want to see "uncensored" versions, I'd just see the maebari (tapes covering the genitals). You might even find out that a cast member was wearing pants during a sex scene. The censoring were often done by the filmmakers, and sometimes used as "special effect" to create an illusion of something more going on that actually did.

Rape Site material is just fine and it has actually been available in HD in Japan for almost a year already I think. Late last summer it came available as HD VoD at DMM and there are even HD screenshots in some earlier page in this thread. Why it will be DVD only in Japan I have no idea... I agree with Takuma the choices with their releases seem a bit weird.

Maybe the Synapse disc is not out yet because of whatever their terms with Nikkatsu were? Maybe Nikkatsu will release only DVD because of their deal with Synapse? (but then again they release Red Violation only on DVD even though it must be a brand new scan...) Or maybe Synapse is just slow and too busy with their Argento's. But I think if Synapse could have released the film whenever they wanted to then they are making a mistake by not releasing it before it comes out on DVD in Japan (it will find it's way to torrent sites immediately upon release and I would not be surprised if somebody even makes subs for it. Though you can understand it well enough even without subs.).

EDIT: German company Shock DVD Entertainment will release Star of David: Beauty Hunting on Blu-Ray at some point. I suppose no English subs will be included but I think Synapse had made a deal for this one as well so maybe we'll get a Blu from them as well?

Certainly hard to second-guess what Synapse and Nikkatsu have agreed upon.

Fingers crossed that RAPE SITE at least gets an English language friendly (subbed) release sooner rather than later.

Good news that STAR OF DAVID is getting a german Blu. Probably won't be English-subbed. I, too, had read that Synapse is doing that also. But nothing is confirmed.

It is a bit odd that WIFE TO BE SACRIFICED isn't included with these BluRays. Still, the prospect of SECRET CHRONICLE:SHE-BEAST MARKET shortly is cause for celebration.
