Also, Nikkatsu released some of Kan Mukai's (not sure if they were produced by his own company and just distributed first by Nihon Cinema or what) films in 1972 with apparently new titles (which do not appear on Nikkatsu's own database and the original titles are unknown...) and some of these might have western actors in them. I have a couple of old newspaper ads for the films and there's a very low quality picture for one of them (first of the 金髪愛欲シリーズ films which translates as something like blonde lust series?) which might show a western woman. :cuckoo:



I could be wrong but I think they use Silverlight with the Microsoft's PlayReady DRM, possibly even with the option that blocks the video from being displayed if something in the chain is not HDCP compliant.

Is it just me or are the majority of those foreign actresses in Nikkatsu roman porno really homely looking? Toei has them beat in that department with Christina Lindberg and Sandra Julien. I don't see any of those RP foreigners coming close to touching these two.

Caught Mototsugu Watanabe's SIBLING SECRETS (1996) and was surprised there was none of his usual goofiness and schlock here. I actually didnt encounter ANY ladyboys or ladies of the night while I was in vietnam...wasnt part of my tour and to be honest I wouldnt know where to start looking
Thailand however, was the complete opposite and couldnt really go ANYWHERE without encountering them...day AND night!!!

Back on topic...TAKUMA...a few on your 1/5 list I actually quite liked..but I guess a few of my choices for bad movies are on your good list anyway....but the majority we can agree on...

Just went through the lists and these are the ones I think I disagree most with you. Big fan of BED PARTNER and WOMAN IN THE BLACK LINGERIE, especially the former. Want to rewatch this soon. Regarding THE WORLD OF GEISHA although not loving it as much as some of Kumashiro Tatsumis later work I'd still rate it much higher than 1.5/5.

Out of the 1/5 list I absolutely loved KOICHIRO UNO'S DIRTY SISTER'S BARBER SHOP. By far the best out of the Koichiro Uno series out of those I've seen so far. Possibly my favorite Roman Porno comedy. The other four ones would also get a recommendation from me, don't love them but still very enjoyable in my opinion.

my bad...reading comprehension fail on my part. Guess geography fail too since Thailand is the one known for their kathooeys and not Viet.

Haha...no honestly I had (and still dont) have any idea where the dodgy places are in Vietnam...I went to a predominantly Chinese tourist filled vacation spot and , while there DID seem to be a few girls at night on the backs of motorcycle taxis who were a bit TOO made up, they usually sped past pretty quickly and I was not able to keep up with them on foot!!

As for Takumas list..I think a few on his 'worst' list I like is maybe because they were in the first batch I saw....before I became jaded by it all...likewise a few on his 'good' list I saw after burnout so wasnt paying enough attention to them....
