You will be extremely happy with the set, Todd. Not only do all of the films rule, but the box is easy to find in the dark.

It's true. That hot pink packaging is handy like that.

Awesome! Our little Todd is finally growing up. ^_^

        He's still short though.

I'm waiting for that growth spurt still. And I will never grow up. That's what is so awesome about me.

If you did you'd have to hang out with Horace's "other" Ian.

Just before I go and watch the next Rica film: the funniest thing, I find personally, is that most of the Violent Pink were produced in the era under Japan's old censorship laws that prohibited full frontal female nudity (I believe frontal male nudity is still outlawed, though I may be wrong). Watching the films, and seeing how carefully they set up shots and orchestrated scenes to avoid pubic regions being shown is just mind-boggling in the lengths they went to to keep the censors happy. To be fair, though, Hong Kong films were the same up until changes in their film censorship laws in 1977. Watch any Shaw film from the same era: it's amazing how many pots, vases, flower arrangements etc crop up in the foreground of many shots to hide the "forbidden" bits...

I've always kind of gotten a kick out of that too. There's always something conveniently in front of the lens to block to goods, but once you get used to it, you realize there's an art to it.

Yes indeed! And that's what I love about it. The guys behind the lenses really got the whole thing down to such a fine art that, thirty years on, movie nerds like us actually look for those scenes and get a kick out of them. :)

So I just watched Delinquent Girl Boss and it was awesome. It had some slow bits, but I enjoyed it. I have a new girlfriend and her name is Reiko Ohshida. Oh man, she is gorgeous. I looked forward to the other flicks on the Pinky Violence box set and staring at Ms. Ohshida for years to come.

She's a fox, and has bad ass screen presence too. A shame she didn't make more movies than she did.

Here's a classic example of what we were talking about from Rica (the pixelisation was my doing so that the thread doesn't have to have a new NSFW warning added):

One (of countless) perfect examples. While I'd rather see the naughty bits in all their glory because I am a pervert, I have to admit I appreciate the artform behind hiding them.

yeah sometimes less is better. But not usually.

Not sure what's included in this but it's scheduled to come out 7/12.

I'm guessing they just repackaged some of their older titles?
