I was a big fan of Noh Young Seok's debut indie comedy, DAYTIME DRINKING & was looking forward to his sophomore effort with anticipation. INTRUDERS didn't disappoint as it turned out to be a solid suspense thriller underpinned by a dark comedic streak running throughout the film. It is exactly the adroit handling of the comedic touches by director Seok which makes INTRUDERS a true multi-mood experience (Korean directors seem to have this down pat) and saves the film from being another dreary derivative survivalist horror flick set in the snowy woods. I'm definitely going to get this one on blu ray in the future. It'll be a shame if a US distributor doesn't pick this up.

Just as an aside, actor Choi Moo Sung has a minor but pivotal role in this flick. Most fans here would probably recognize him as the cannibal serial killer friend of Choi Min Sik's character in I SAW THE DEVIL. He's once again eating raw meat but it's not human flesh this time.
