The following image is from 88 Films' announcement of their first US titles. I assume the boxes behind The Chinese Boxer are also coming to the US (otherwise, why include them in the announcement.)

I'll pick up the Shaw box from Arrow at some point, but i really hope that COME DRINK WITH ME turns out good. Love me some Cheng Pei Pei. It's a crying shame she couldn't go with Hu when he left the Shaw's.

Another Kung Fu vehicle from the infamous Shaw Brothers Studio, Disciples of Shaolin AKA Hong quan xiao zi, delivers a typically power-packed Hong Kong tale of enemy gangs and super cool fight scenes. When shaolin disciple Kuan Fung Yi (Sheng Fu) takes a job at a textile factory he soon becomes embroiled in a bitter and violent clash with the rival Manchu clan who run a neighbouring mill. As well delivering some impressive martial arts set pieces, Disciples of Shaolin also provides a political punch, underlining the abuse of workers and the corruption of cruel bosses. Fast, fierce and thought provoking, this is a must for collectors of extreme Asian cinema.Rock! Shock! Pop!

Dragon Swamp (1969)
What a splendid movie! The beauty of the sets and costumes and the charisma of the cast effortlessly steamroll all the improbabilities in the plot. Somehow everything works. Grand entertainment.
(Lo Lieh staggering through the final scenes with an inflamed face covered in poison needles is one of the most jarring images in any Shaw Brothers film I've seen. Somehow it never occurs to the character to remove the needles.)
I watched the Celestial Deltamac (Taiwan) edition, which contains English subtitles, although there is no indication of this on the packaging. It's a very nice disc.Last edited by mjeon; 11-25-2021, 12:13 PM.
