This has started shipping apparently. I ordered late so will probably be a while yet for me.

Not a fan of the bonus disc coming in an envelope. I can understand they didn't want two completely different sets of packaging for the exclusive and retail version, but still a bit disappointing.

Being a multi disc set I'm waiting to hear if there are any compatibility issues with the discs.

Great to finally see The Big Boss Part II. Kudos to that certain private collector who made it available to the masses, I may not like his recent films much, but this is a gift to fans. As to the film, I've seen worse kung fu movies that made it to wide international release. Severin say that they put it on the bonus disc simply because the print is not in great shape, but it's watchable and sort of apt given the material. The sex scene is the choppiest, presumably many projectionists have cut the good frames out over the years (funny how it uses a Purple Haze rip off track for the shagging, yet outright steals the Bond theme for a Live and Let Die style boat chase - come to think of it, that may be why Severin didn't include it in the retail version). I would have liked to have seen some more extras with it (just an intro and trailer), I think there's a lot to discues about the film and its ultimate fate.

Another one scratched off the list.

Watched the Enter the Clones documentary. It's damn near perfect. It's hugely entertaining and doesn't outstay its welcome, it zips by at 90 odd minutes. There's some great cut stuff on the disc too which would have taken away from the focus of the documentary if left in, but work great as featurettes.

For me, Severin are filling the gap left by Arrow. They usually put out something I want each month and nobody does those massive box sets like they do (and manage to keep the cost reasonable). Their podcsasts are fun too.

                  Bring on vol. 2.

Ian's reviews of this set have convinced me to spring for it.
