So it looks like the K&R Blu-ray of City Hunter isn't an upscale after all. The screen caps here look pretty good. Hoping Shout! is able to use the same source. It also seems that K&R have Fearless Hyena coming out on Blu-ray next month.Rock! Shock! Pop!Comment

The Columbia DVD of Fearless Hyena was taken from an old video master in the pre-dvd era. The subtitles are dubtitles, with lots of nonsnese and bad translations.Originally posted by Ian Jane View Post
Hong Kong Legends DVD was made from the FS remaster, though it does HKL tweaked the colour to a weird pink tint, as was their habit. The subtitles are much better.
Although both feature the genuine Cantonese track, there are sync issues due to them just sticking on whatever source they had to hand.
The Columbia is still the best as far as the English mono track goes, but yeesh, what a painful dub!
The problem these days is that Fortune Star often only provides a 2.0 downmix of their horrid remixes, and not a genuine mono track - and even if it is in mono, it may not be in sync.Comment

Seems there are no Japanese releases of Drunken Master and Snake In Eagle's Shadow that might actually offer true HD transfers.
